The Chapel

I've been going to the Chapel between 2 and 3 times per week for a few years now, it's without hesitation the most creative gastro-pub I've ever been to. The menu is on a board mixing classics meals (like the burger, sausages and steak) residents on the menu as well as great creations inspired by french and english recipes. The chef does a stunning job at executing recipes from the french terroir as well as improvising at mixing flavours.
On the bill side, it is the best ratio quality for money (which explain why I can afford to go there a few times per week)!
An all times winner when you love great products and great taste.
Good range of wines and beers served by friendly staff.

I've been here before and been satisfied, but was disappointed this time. Ambience and decor are lovely, perfect for a gastropub, brightly lit with beautiful unvarnished wood tables and an open kitchen. Food prices reasonable for a gastropub. But my gorgonzola risotto was surprisingly bland and served with a pointless garnish of flavourless salad leaves on top which I had to eat separately before I could start on the rice, since mixing them in would have ruined it. Just rocket (as advertised would have worked) but you don't want lettuce in your risotto. Real ale selection was poor and the wine is expensive for what you're getting. My friend's burger looked good and was served attractively; his chips were unspectacular. This place has a lot of potential so I hope this was just a blip.
