We went for dinner last night - having seen a couple of positive reviews - Seriously .... Wont go back again! Poor service, very expensive and really - the food is NOT worth the money ....

Save you time and money - avoid!

Two of us dined on Saturday evening. There were very few people in the Cafe Strudel. Staff were friendly. Our meals were nicely cooked, but were almost totally lacking in vegetables, and potatoes were scarce (my husband had 3 slices and I had none.) Had we not been on a 50% offer, we felt the meal would have been grossly over-priced. We would not go again.

what an absolute hidden gem in Sheen! We enjoyed a wonderful , delicious, fresh and plentiful dinner here last nite for my husbands birthday and were not dissapointed! the 50% off deal meant we splashed out on a fab bottle of wine, and just about found room for an excellent glass of port and delicious cocktail!

The deserts simply melted in the mouth and the courgette flower stuff with the goats cheese was a real treat! Try the beef Goulash if you like a big portion of the tenderest meat with potatoes...... it was so moorish, could maybe have done with a few veg on the side but other than that the food was really excellent and we are very fussy so 8/10 is a very high score!

The cafe seems to work equally well as a relaxed coffee shop by day or resteraunt by evening and it really felt like we were having dinner in someone's home it was so sympathetically decorated. the goldfish in a bowl next to the wash basins was a nice touch too!

The owner was the most lovely welcoming lady and we had a great chat with her! I'm already looking forward to going back there for lunch with friends in a couple of weeks!!

Friday, July 10, 2009 - I remember the brass chandeliers, brass framed mirrors, all the white table cloths and brass coloured wooden chairs, the incandescent lights gave the restaurant a throwback shimmering quality, and for a moment, I completely believed that I was having a Germanic supper...The pate is luxurious. It is naturally smooth, and it carried a big bodied texture that was akin to a chunk of butter. The mature flavours ran rampant and I was really enjoying the rich, smooth butteriness of the dish, simply divine, and a cut above 'normal' pate. On its own, the intensity is completely overkill; so much so that even the tang of the acidic rhubarb compote could hardly dent the robustness of the parfait.
