Went there for sunday lunch with my 3 year old and wife. First time. Service was very good/swift. Food was good for the price. Nothing bad to say about there.

My son had all his chips/chicken goujon, and our starters and main were good.

We came early (12) so it was empty but started to fill up by the time we left.

From the outside it looked incredibly inviting, from the inside I had mixed views, on the bright side, it looked very sophisticated and well prepared although on the other hand it was virtually silent. There seemed to be very little atmosphere and entertainment. The lighting was dim which was sad for such a beautiful summer’s day, they should remove the blinds to allow more sunlight through, the waiter was neither entertaining nor particularly friendly; they seemed bored and had a lack of interest. However, after ordering, the food came exceptionally fast and to a very good standard.

For starter, I had risotto; it was a small serving but fantastically put together, a marvellous combination with added broad beans, the risotto was steaming hot, it was a delight to eat. The main course arrived swiftly after, not a quality cut of steak but cooked to perfection, very juicy yet dark on the edges. The salad and cheese were beautifully laid on one side and gave a great complementary to the dish even though it was so simple. Baby tomatoes still on the vine were delicious and hot this gave the food a fantastic range of colour and taste. If only the dessert which followed could have kept up the same standard. The vanilla ice cream and warm hot chocolate were below par. It was quite frankly disgusting. The hot chocolate tasted of charcoal; it looked like a puddle of black oil. It left me with a stinging flavour in my mouth that I will never forget, very sad for a meal that had started so well. Although the waiters were not the most pleasant they were efficient and quick, there was not a great deal of atmosphere, although it was a weekday. Overall, I feel that the results which follow are adequate, the starter and main at an exceptional standard but with the rest below par. The price was well set.
