Thai & Co Bar Restaurant

The food at Thai & Co is possibly the closest to genuine Thai food I have tasted in London, (I can say that with confidence, having been to Thailand 10 times). The menu is extensive but doesn't try to attempt to be trendy (aka pretentious). I particularly recommend Thai Fish Cakes, Tom Yam and Green or Red Curry. There is a fairly standard range of cocktails although they tend to be a little light on the alcohol! Still, Singha beer is cold and refreshing.

Service is friendly and generally efficient. Lunchtimes are a cheap way to experience this place (there's a special lunch set menu - excellent value), and weekends tend to be quite busy, so you may need to book. North Finchley's best restaurant by far...they should bring back the free after-meal mint chocolate though!

Went to this restaurant last weekend. The starters were fine, however the main course took ages! When we asked the waitress, she was very rude and shouted at us and said that its coming and there were others who came before us. She refused to apologise and there was no manager on duty! Apparently he is on holiday somewhere! We decided to leave without having our main course!!

My family were regulars when Thai & Co was still the Thai Concept in Barnet - (Thai Concept is still there, but the food isn't as good). Even though they're in Finchley now, we still take the time to visit when we can - or pick up a take away!

They do very cheap lunch deals and some great specials, like drunken duck, lamb massaman, and steamed haddock with ginger, soy and spring onions - simple but delicious. Their dIm sum is perfect and the garlic chicken and penang curry is always fresh and tasty. Nothing tastes synthetic or greasy, or like it came out of the freezer. Cocktails are good, wine by the glass is reasonable, and they do fresh juices too.

Service is always friendly and I don't think I have ever been disappointed here. We have eaten at some of London's best Thai restaurants and often feel that the food doesn't justify the price - this is why Thai & Co is so great, because you can eat well without breaking the bank.
