Just got back from lunch there... loved it. Some of the menu looked a bit too "fusion" or "contemporary" for my liking but on receiving my plate of food I was totally happy with it.
The food was spicy, the homemade chutneys were excellent (and nice to see some variation from the standard 4 you normally get), chickpeas and veg were a nice touch. Chillis fries, although you might question their origin, were delicious, and to be honest this place isn't pretending to be authentic, its meant to be progressive.
The double decker seating arrangements probably don't suit everyone (ladies, and anyone over 40) probably won't fancy climbing a ladder to their alcohol, but I found it very novel and enjoyable. I'll be returning with no more than 3 friends to ensure I can ask for one of the tables at the top of a ladder!
£15ea for 2 drinks, water, popadoms (sorry for my spelling), two main courses and a side dish, I consider that to be pretty good... although a special lunchtime menu might get them a bit more business.
Overall, I really liked it. Definitely one to return to with the lads (max. 3), colleagues (max. 3), or family. Not sure my granddad or better half would fancy the ladder though...
