The WORST curry I have ever had and also the most expensive, great looking decor but terrible service and food.

The food was cold and when we told the staff they looked at us blankly untill we politely suggested they take it away and bring it back warm. Some of our party requested hot curries and some requested mild ones and this was mixed up so they had to swap dishes and have things that they hadnt ordered. Overall the food was bland and the meat was dry, it reminded me of a ready meal.

At the end of the meal our bill had a 12% gratuity added, which meant a £20 tip, when I told the waitress that i didnt feel the service deserved a £20 tip as our food had been cold, she said "well we did microwave it for you!" Anyway , they wouldnt take it off so we just paid up and left.

This is the first review i have ever writen, so i'm not someone with unreasonable expectations.

Ate here early on a Saturday evening before heading to the theatre and I was very happy!

If you're looking for authentic Indian food I would avoid it to be honest, but for a yummy 'Indian-style' meal I would highly recommend. In the menu you can put together your own curry, choosing your meat/fish, sauce, veg and rice, which is a nice idea. I chose chicken with tikka masala, plain rice and corn on the cob. The portion was well sized, not too big or too small, the sauce was yummy and in good supply (they give you a little pot of extra sauce on the side, so you can choose how much you want depending on your taste).

Prices were great value considering this restaurant is opposite Waterloo station.

The decor was fresh and clean and they also have tables in little boxes up at the ceiling that you access via a step ladder! Very odd but a fun touch!

Service was brilliant, so friendly and attentive. Our watress happily took a photo of our group for us.

I would highly recommend for a pleasant, cheap meal in central London, but if you're looking for a gourmet treat then it wont be for you.

One of THE worst and over priced curries I've ever eaten. Very strange menu that I assume is supposed to be some kind of 'asian fusion' - fridge cold 'sweet potato mash' tasted revolting and the chicken was dry and very bland. My suggestion to them is spend less time trying to be 'funky' and concentrate on putting together a proper menu. Oh yes, and if you ask for coke be warned you'll get pepsi. There is a difference. If you want a good curry, steer clear of this place and go down the road to Hot Stuff in Vauxhall, great food, great atmosphere and half the price (quite literally).

This is a regular haunt of mine and I would definitely recommend it!

Great (tasty food) priced quite reasonably given its central location.

Staff are good as well - smiling and friendly.

You won't be disappointed.

I think the dish I ordered was awful! The rice wasn't even cooked properly and was like eating bullets! So please make sure you have your teeth ready!

The gulab Jamun Sundae was actually stale! Realy disappointing after that awful meal! YUCK!

I think it was the dishes I ordered cos my friends had better food then me.

Drinks was nice but then might as well go to a pub for that!!! In fact I have had better pub food as well! Much cheaper too.

Presentation of food was really nice! But whats the point if it taste like wood!

All in all, great place for people that don't actually know what indian food tastes like, thats British Indian or Traditional Indian!

The restaurant looks great. we felt like having a meal on Indian train ( for a change ,in London ).

Indian food with English Twist !!" Food was great.

We were on the upper berth and it was really hot, so the Tropical juice matched with the temperature there !

I liked the way the Food was garnished but the main dish was not great though !

Good atmosphere.

I may go there again but will remember the visit for rest of my life !

This place is great. Attentive staff, good buzzy atmosphere, great menu - far too much for me to choose from and I want to go back at least 4 more times to try everything I liked the look of!

They do 'English' dishes with an Indian twist. One of us had the fish and chips, lovely crisp, light spicy battered fish and chilli chips - yum! I had a low fat curry - didn't taste low fat at all and was perfectly seasoned and spiced.

Other dishes they do include an indian style burger, indian style calzone pizza and indial type fajitas - how fab. Of course they do all the usuals but with a chance to choose first meat/fish/vegetables, then sauce, then rice, then accompniament - all for just £8.50.

This place is fab, I cannot wait to return.

I went to this restaurant to give a treat to my husband on my first job. With the ratings I thought it should be a good place for Indian cuisine but I was very disappointed with the quality of food. The lamb kebab was hard and tasteless and even the paneer was very very hard. We felt the food was not freshly prepared given the quick time it appeared on our table. Given that there are so many good Indian restaurants available in London I do not think I will ever again go to Bangalore Express.

The ambience and service is good but the price I paid I was overall very disappointed.
