We were told we were very lucky as they'd just had a cancellation and we could get a table immediately and they were very busy yet the place was 3/4 empty and when we were sat we had to wait half an hour before they take out order and then it was a good 20 minutes before the starter arrived then they try to take our plates before we were finished and put the main courses down. The food was below average it was like youd buy a ready meal from tescos. The waitress was real rude to my boyfriend when he asked for a glass of tap water she said they didn't do tap water, surely that's against the law? We didn't have a dessert just asked for the bill but there was a dessert on the bill so we told the manageress and she said we had a dessert and wouldn't go and check with the waitress so we eventually just paid in cash as near as we could with no dessert and left wth the manageress having a right go at us in front of everyone. I hated it, really hated it, am never going back there again and I would recomend that you steered clear of it for ever. Awful place.

A group (8 of us) went there last night. My friend who made the initial booking a week ago was told we were to be there for 7:15pm and we had to leave by 9:30pm. When we arrived last night our waitress was really rude pointing at her watch we had to leave by 9:30pm. She was not pleasant when taking our order saying "give me number not name" and throughout the rest of the service. In fairness it was just her, the rest of the staff we met were a little warmer and more friendly to their paying customers. We had no complaints about the food or the wine. We all agreed that we were not happy with the serivce and as a group decided not to pay the service charge, which when our bill arrived, came to £20. We explained to the waitress we were not paying the service charge, we were told we had to as we were a group of 8 (actually the service charge is 10% of the final bill to groups of 6 or more and is discretionary). However my friend had to give her name and address and explain why we were not paying the service charge. Would we go there again? No

Rather surprised to see al these negative reviews about this restaurant. I've been going there since 2002 and have always had only excellent experince of the place. The food is always fresh (yes, it does take a while to arrive at your table, but it's well worth the wait!), the service is good. Only once I had a problem with a cocktail - it was too sweet, but turn out that night they had someone new mixing them. The cocktail was replace without a question! Compared to other thai restaurants I've visited in the past, it is definitely one of the best. The menu is not the same old stuff you get everywhere else, it IS freshly cooked, no MSG is used to flavour the dishes (which is a big thing for me as my son and I are both allergic to it) and it is VERY reasonably priced! In fact I love it there so much, that it was one of the reasons I was reluctant to move too far from the area (there is one other restaurant in Crystal Palace that I love equally as much, but that's another story ;o) )

When I went to this so called resturant a few nights ago me and my friends waited at least one and a half hours for our food and when it arrived it was stone cold, the food was very poor and tasted like it came from a packet and the rice we had was slimy and tasted very stale, I will not be going back there it is a real shame because this resturant must have been good a few months ago because it was recommended to me by some friends and they never had any problems.

My wife, sister-in-law and my 4 year niece went for a dinner at this so called high profile restaurant...and I can assure you, that we would not step into that place again. Like many other reviews, customer services is poor. First, we were questioned if we did a booking - and we didnt. So they gave us a spot where its not reserved. We were there for 1.5 hours, and none of other places that were "reserved", had people in there (we were declined a window seating as its reserved)! Second, the lady who showed us to our table was upset with another waitress (who seemed to be very friendly, smiling looking girl) for taking our orders...The sulky waitress failed to tell us that extra portion of prawn crackers cost £1.50. The food arrived and frankly, coming from Malaysia where I have tasted many kind of asian authentic food, its not exactly Thai food. If adding lemon grass and coconut milk = thai food, then I can cook thai food anytime!! The curry's were so thick with coconut milk, that we felt it was heavy. I wouldnt say it was bad, but I definitely would not say its really good!! Following to that, the 3 of us had our own seperate jasmine tea (charged at £2.00 pp) - when mine finished (of course quenching the thirst from heavy coconut milk), I asked them to add hot water. The sulky waitress tells me that they cant do that, and that I am supposed to order a new one. For God's sake, who charges a tea bag + a cup of hot water = £2.00 and then refused to add hot water!! So I asked just for hot water, and to make sure I did not reuse the bag, she took my pot away and brought the hot water...but of course, I used my wife's pot to make tea, in which apparently she showed face behind my back.
The customer service is absolutely poor - though there is a sweet waitress who gives you smile and makes you feel welcome. But you'd be lucky to be served by her. Food is OK not brilliant. Overall, if you want to experience OK food with bad customer service, thats the place to go!

This resturant is a total rip off I went a few days ago with some friends who ordered the duck dish with pancakes they complained to the Manager that the duck was hard he told them that " duck is supposed to be cooked like that" and when they asked for some more pancakes because they had run out he said that that would cost them an extra £1.50 they clearly do not care about customer service and have very poor food ,I had a starter which was supposed to be prawn tempura but it was some cheap over fried crab and they put stale rice and stale sweet corn and deep fried them in balls and call this a starter this place should be shut down immediately!!

I visited Tamanag Thai with some friends two days ago and I was totally shocked that this resturant is still in business the food was very dissopointing and when my friends complained about the noodle dish which was bean sprouts with sauce poured over them the manager said that noodles are supposed to look like this, the staff were rude and did not ask if we were finished eating they just removed some meat dishes from the table, I think they use the same stale food for the next day service because the food is total crap! the best part of the evening was the company and the desert !

I went to Tamnag Thai for the first time last night and was very disappointed. the plates were dirty the food was poor and the staff were very rude and unfriendly and when you approached the manager to complain about the food he got very defensive and would not back down, the food was cold and tasteless. I shall not be going back. they obviously need to spend more money on getting fresh food and less on the decorations, I shall not be going back there.

I went there for lunch yesterday and I was by myself and they told me I should come with someone else I'd get a table faster! I was left standing at the bar for ten minutes in a half empty restaurant while other people came in and got seated. My seafood curry was awful I could of made it better myself at home and I can't cook! The Coke was warm and the table was dirty. I didn't leave a tip and i paid and left and I wont be going back tehre again.
