I often go to this restaurant but am not one to write reviews- so here goes

I find their lunch time menu fantastic value for money and the presentation of the food is always top notch. I would say in comparison to other resturants that Tamnag thai is a cut above any of the othere resturants in the Crystal Palace triangle.

In comparison to other thai restaurants that I can mention such as the Blue Elephant I believe that Tamnag thai is probably a better experience.

Disappointing - the lamb in green curry that my friend ordered was tough and didn't taste like lamb more like beef! If a mistake had been made surely an apology was in order. Once we complained we were ignored completely by the staff so we felt compelled not to leave a tip.

After not having visited Tamnag Thai for a while due to moving out of the area, I was very excited to get the opportunity to visit again. I have always enjoyed my nights out there whether with my partner or with friends, again Tamnag Thai did not fail to impress. We arrived to be greeted by welcoming staff that even remembered our names from previous visits, the layout has not changed much apart from the reception area, but the menu has had a slight overhaul with some new exciting editions. We ordered the lobster noodles which were cooked to perfection, and the duck spring rolls which were to die for. The food is not cheap but we feel you get what you pay for. All in all a very enjoyable evening!!!

I visited Tamnag Thai last night and felt compelled to write a review. When I called to book for 7:30, I was told that was fine but we would need to vacate the table by 9pm. This seemed reasonable as I was sure they would be busy on a Saturday night but by the time we left, many of the tables were still empty so it seemed a little uneccessary to stipulate this!

When we arrived, we were told to sit at the bar and were left there for 5 minutes although the restaurant was nearly empty and the staff were standing around chatting. When we were finally shown to our table, we were taken there by a lady carrying her supermarket shopping. The napkins and menus (which were sticky) were virtually thrown at us and this pattern followed for the remainder of the night - we did not see a smile or any courteous behaviour for the rest of the evening - in fact I would go as far as to say it varied between completely dismissive and rude and aggressive.

We ordered sparkling water which was just slammed down on the table without a glance, let alone even thinking about opening the bottle and pouring some out.

I also ordered dim sum to start which some time later we were told was not in stock - but was still charged on the bill albeit with a reluctant apology when the error was pointed out.

In fairness, the restaurant is lovely and the food was really quite good but was totally let down by the worst service I have experienced in a long time. We didn't leave a tip and I am naturally quite forgiving. I genuinely can't remembr the last time I didn't leave a tip.

I would love to return to the restaurant so would welcome some reviews in the future telling me that it's sorted out it's customer service.

Ever since stumbling across this beautiful restaurant last year, I can't help going back for more. The people are lovely and welcoming and the food is great.

I see there are mixed reviews about this restaurant and I did have one experience where the service was extremely slow, but the food was great.

It can get very busy on weekends, but we've always enjoyed ourselves, eating delicious food and walked away happy.

The thai platter (prawn tempura, spring rolls, prawn toast, corn fritters, plus more) is more than enough for two people and it's a great way to try a few nibbles. I recommend the spiced coconut chicken curry, a speciality of the chef.

We've been living in the area and using this restaraunt for years now.

Recently there has been a very noticeable decline in the quality of the food.

We used to forgive the hit and miss service becasue the food used to be exceptional. . . .now I'm afraid it's just not worth it anymore.

Such a shame. I'm not sure if it has new owners, or a new chef but I am sure most will do what we are going to do though and vote with their feet.
