Food is ok but the service is so poor, rather rude for staff to talk loudly and in their native tongue while serving customers.

A bit of customer service will make it go a long way - serve with a smile should be the motto

I don't claim that this restaurant has the best service BUT it's probably the best home-cooked Thai food in London. I'm Thai and I know this. I always go there with Thai friends because non-Thais either thinks that this place has "outdated atmosphere" or "horrible service". I just think that it's the closest to a typical "Thai restaurant" in Bangkok in terms of food and service possible. In Thailand, you go to typical restaurant for good food and decent service, which is what this restaurant is about. A lot of people commented about food being not good has never tasted real Thai food and let me repeat this again - THIS IS REAL THAI FOOD! A lot of people commented that the food is not as fresh probably doesn't know that Tawana operates Thai supermarket in Chepstow road, so it's actually vertically integrated company. So enough said. If you want real, unpretentious Thai food, that's the place to go. If you want adapted Thai food, go to Blue Elephant or Patara.

Having read the reviews and being local to this restaurant with not many options for Thai food in Notting Hill or Bayswater, my boyfriend, a friend and myself decided to give this place a chance and being late we were really hungry. My boyfriend & I arrived before my friend, a poker faced waitress seated us on a table of four. A few minutes later, the Mamma waitress "deseated" us saying that table & the adjoining one was reserved for a party of eight. Now, this must be a new restaurant ritual - you seat the customer then you realize that you have a reservation for eight you make them move.

We obliged much as my boyfriend (who is a restaurateur) was not happy, After a good 30 minutes, a waitress came to our table not before we raised all hands in the air to get her attention. As I ordered my Thai iced coffee and requested less ice (I am scared of the word "flu) she said she cannot make this drink with less coffee and I should choose something else. Oh dear, now is the first or what - I must have a glass full of ice or no ice coffee. I iinsisted and she obliged, reluctantly.

The food was decent (have had better Thai in not so fancy places) not worthy of any major stars. What is appalling is the attitude and service. Why work/run/serve in a restaurant if you cannot smile or be nice to your customers??? My BF was very keen not to pay the service charge that was added to the bill. Surely they do not deserve any service charge if there is no service.

Interestingly, as we left the restaurant and the waitress had turned the OPEN sign to CLOSED there was no party of EIGHT that showed up and those tables lay vacant.

Great restaurant to ruin a nice evening with lack of service & poor attitude.
