I went to Tawana recently over the weekend with about half a dozen friends. The restaurant was recommended by a friend who had been here a couple of years ago, however, I was greatly unimpressed by this restaurant. The service was excruciatingly slow and the food was quite frankly not up to scratch. Personally, I ordered a shrimp and pork dumpling starter followed by a rather standard thai dish - pad thai. They were both disappointing. Although most of our main dishes arrived at the same time, one person on our table had his rice brought early, followed by his main dish a while later – which needless to say, left the rice rather cool. It seemed that the waitress to patron ratio was way too high – service was very slow on the night. At the end, we waited almost half an hour for our bill. I will not be revisiting this restaurant and I do not recommend anyone else to do so.

We have eaten here regularly over the past 18 months and can't understand some of the negative comments. Although the atmosphere is a little lacking, the food and service are both excellent.

This is the closest Thai to my house and I love Thai food so I went about 3 times. The food is o.k. for main courses but the starters are poor standard and seem to be ready prepared and defrosted.

The curries are quite nice, nevertheless the portions are teeny and one main dish is not enough for a grown up person (even if you don't eat much).

The service is lacking but what I find the most annoying is that they have a minimum spend of £10.- for food per person so you are basically forced to order a starter or a desert. This just makes the place feel like a tourist trap and as I local who has now fortunately found other Thai alternatives, I will not be comming back.

Im a lover and cook of Thaifood. I know very well how Thai food should taste. I ordered the Tom Kha Gai, one of my favourites and a steamed fish paste with red curry. The Tom Kha Gai was way too sauer, too much lemmongrass. The fish was tasteless, not even spicey for a Thai curry. I will not go there again. The service was friendly and fast. You also have to eat for 10 pounds on food, if not, you have to order extra food, strange.

This has become our favorite Thai restaurant. It is certainly the best in the neighborhood and one of the best in London in our view. Very good quality food and consistently great service.

A really good local Thai which we've visited regularly for around 10 years. I can't understand the comments about the service which I've always found charming.

The pork, prawn and scallop dishes are especially good as are their mixed starters (not to be eaten if you're on a diet). Avoid the house wine & drink Thai beer.

This is a brilliant Thai restaurant - so much so, I visit it every time I travel to London. Non of your Falang food here - just good authentic aromatic/full of flavour Thai food!
