Des Vins (St Pancras)

Des Vins claim on their website to be the perfect place to hold a business lunch or special occasion. They clearly are not capable of catering for this type of function.
I was arranging to meet family at St Pancras to begin a week end of very special birthday celebrations. We had planned to eat a light lunch there and to avoid disappointment I had reserved a table for a large party at Des Vins as it is only one of four establishments to take reservations within the station. I had a lovely telephone conversation with a gentleman who took my reservation and assured me all would be well for our visit.
We arrived at Des Vins and informed the waitress that we had a reservation. She mumbled something and then proceeded to show us to an area of the restaurant that clearly was not reserved or set out in any way for the number in our party. The area she showed us to was simply a few unoccupied tables. When I asked if there was a particular table reserved particularly for us I was greeted with a SHOULDER SHRUG (!) and mutterings that 'maybe something had been lost in translation'. No, I spoke to one of your colleagues who took my reservation very clearly and read it back to me. This waitress had no interest in making us feel welcome nor made any attempt to rectify the issue. I felt very let down as we were simply not stopping in for a coffee on the way to the train but intending to celebrate a special occasion.
Appalling customer service, staff with a terrible attitude which ruined the family birthday we had planned to celebrate.
DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION HERE FOR A BUSINESS MEETING OR SPECIAL OCCASION AS IT "MAYBE LOST IN TRANSLATION".
