While being a fair enough option if travelling from Kings Cross, St Pancras or Euston, the food here starts to waver when moving away from 'lowest common denominator' options such as burgers and chips. I have to question the value for money aspect of mixed salad for £3 which is simply a handful of leaves grabbed from a bag. I expected something more interesting and well presented than that. Even the presence of a tomato would have been a considerable improvement. More effort could also have been put into a cheese board, where one of the cheeses was one of those slightly tacky varieties that have bits of fruit in them. No chutney came with it and the crackers were ordinary. A main course trout dish was nice enough but featured vegetable items that had clearly come from a jar (artichokes with the brine washed off but lingering on in terms of flavour). Best stick to fried things here - it's what their customers mainly want, and what they seem to do best..

I had duck liver on toast followed by lamb hot pot and rubharb crumble to finish and enjoyed it all . My friend said he had a nice meal as well ,For the 2 of us with wine and coffe it came to just over £70 so decent value as there was plenty of it .
