The indian food at the garden cafe (4th floor selfridges) is delicious! I had a dosa and an onion bhaji and my sister had a chicken wrap. both were very good - better than most indian restaurants i have been to and very convenient!

This is a bit of a hidden treasure in Selfridges - I don't think we'd ever been up to the fourth floor before! (It sells beds, health shop type stuff, massage chairs and cushions, as far as I could see).
The Food Garden is self service and the choice is amazing - there's Moroccan food, Italian, soups, paninis, fresh fruit smoothies, coffee and cake, Thai and Chinese dishes, fish and chips, and a massive salad bar. There's loads of seating so you can tuck yourself away into a corner and flip through a magazine, rather than elbow-wrestling at Yo! Sushi or standing in the long line for salt beef.
We shared a delicious thali from the Indian food section and it was really very good - decent spicy chicken curry, bombay potatoes, naan bread, rice, raita, lime chutney, and tarka daal. We thought that with so much choice, the quality of food might suffer but it was all great. (Maybe we got lucky - I don't know what the other choices are like). With two bottles of water, the bill was about £14 - not bad at all!
It's was quiet, even though it was the weekend, and it was nice to get away from the crowds on the lower floors. Great views from the window seats too.
