Had my wedding here couple weeks ago, I have to say that the manager and his team looked after my family and firends so well. I had a stress free event my guests enjoyed the food, my guests was a mixture of indians and pakistanis and they catered for halal food which was an absolute bonus, drinks was also a mix of alcholic and non alcholic but we also had th option to bring in our own drinks. DJ, decor, etc was great.
Just want to say thank you to the manager and everyone who looked after my guests and made my day so stress free and special.

Went to Tabla on 03/04/2010, Saturday night,
Went out for a night out for a 25th birthday, there were 15 of us; we walked into Tabla restaurant in Hounslow. We were given the opportunity to have the lounge where we ate, drank, and enjoyed our evening; the food was fabulous as was the bill! And we will be definitely coming back.

This place used to called Urban Spice. It had the reputation as being the worst Indian restaurant in Hounslow. It has now changed management and renamed Tabla. We thought we would give this a try as its only up the road from us.
The name and management might have changed but not the food or service.
As most reviewers have said the place was practically empty when we arrived (Friday 5th Feb 2010 @8.00) only 2 other couples.
Waiter seated us and took our drinks order. Took about 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive. When asked what the specials were, the waiter replied "everything is special". Not understanding my question, I asked him again. He didn;t seem to understand and called his boss over. He came over and in a very aggressive manor asked what the problem was. I replied there was no problem all we wanted to know were the specials.
We dont have any special, just whats on the menu was his reply and he walked off. At this point I was ready to walk out but my wife insited on staying as it was getting late and we were both hungry.
We ended up orderding the mixed grill for 2 for the starter, karahi chicken, daal makhni, ric and nan for mains.
The mixed grill was hot, but the meat were very rubbery, like they had been recooked. They lacked ANY chilli or flavour and were dripping in oil. Now how can you get a mixed grill wrong!!
The mains were just as bad, bland, oily and over priced. Only the Nanns were half decent. We didn;t stay for desert as we didn;t want to put our body's through anymore of this punishment!
This place really does serve the worse food of any Indian restaurant I have ever been to.
The restaurant might look clean and modern but at the end of the day its all about the food and service which this place lacks.
I dont understand how the last 2 reviews are 10? this was certainly not the place I visited, very strange indeed.....

I went to a birthday party here on Saturday 19th September 2009 with a group of around a dozen people. Because I was slightly disabled at that time my friends dropped me at the door while they went off to park their car. So I went in alone, and found I was the first of the group to arrive. The staff at the door welcomed me warmly, offered me a drink and made me very comfortable. The whole night was a blast. I loved the decor, and we benefited from the music from another party going on upstairs. The food was delicious and the service excellent. At the end of the evening my host commented that it was "good value for money". I'll be back - every chance I get.

Had dinner at this place on Thursday at 8.30, place was empty, only 1 other couple in the place. 1 waitress to the entire restaurant, 1 barman and the manager.
Were greeted straight away shown to our table and given the menus, so far so good. However it took another 10 minutes before our orders were taken. The place wasn’t exactly full so have no idea why it took so long. Starters and drinks arrived together approx 15 minutes after ordering, Food was hot but lacked any real spice or flavour, no different to a microwave curry. Drink was flat and warm. Asked for another drink exactly the same but this time had some ice!.
Mains arrived 20 minutes after starters had been cleared, again dripping in oil, covered with onions and not much meat. The meat itself was rough and chewy and felt like it was heated up from night before. Glabjam and ice cream for desert was average and very small potion. The only good thing was the nanns.
Manager came over at the end of the meal to ask how it went, he started off all smiles and handshakes but after we told him we were not happy with the quality of food or speed of service he became moody, walked off and muttered something about not being able to please everyone.
Oh and this place is VERY cold, apparently they only have AC and no heating (as told by the waitress). I hate to see how cold it gets in Autum or Winter.
Come for the decor, dont come for the food or service.
