I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Fantastic service and great food. I have read the other reviews and would disagree with them. As a panjabi mum who cooks and knows her curries, their food is fantastic, quality ingredients cooked by chefs that know their stuff. Other local restaurants do not even come close.

In the last 3 months I have been her 4 times, great place for group bookings and family get togethers!

For food, I would recomend the Tandoori Roti, Desi Lamb and the Mixed Grill!!!

After having just recently moved into the hounslow area, me and my family were looking for somewhere to eat india. We came across tabla and just decided to give it a try. with no real expectations of the place we were pleasantly surprised! We came on a wednesday so the atmosphere was perfect as we just wanted somewhere light and relaxed. We all loved the food aswel my kids were big fans of the paneer and mixed grill! We are glad to have this in our area as we can definitely see us becoming regulars here. They also have a handy parking area at the back!

Went for valentines day, OMG the worst food I have ever tasted, I am Indian and I am ashamed,

Got inside and it was a set valentines menu, I asked if I could order of the main menu, they said no, even though the table opposite were eating different food.

So we got the £25 per person menu, what a joke, the starter was fruit which was cheap and salty, the other starter was powdered meat, the main meal was revolting. This is the time I said I want mixed grill and I got it, it was all chicken, that's not mixed grill, and it was all badly cooked.

My bill came to £70 even though the food was all still there. What a joke. For 2 people. I am deeply ashamed and it ruined my night with my other half. DONT EVER EAT HERE!!!!

Tabla renamed from Urban Spice This is obviously due to the bad reputation Urban Spice has.

We dined at Tabla on Tuesday at 7.30. There were 4 of us and we were the only people in the restaurant! It was absolutely dead. I could only see 3 members of staff (the chef, the barman and the waitress) I don't know how they would have handled more customers.

Despite us being the only customers it took 20 minutes for our starters to arrive! When they did arrive they lacked any spice or flavour and were over cooked. The mains arrived 10 minutes after we had finished out starters. I have no idea what the chef was doing! The waitress was very polite but did say what each dish was when they were brought out or come back at anytime during the meal to ask if everything was OK or we needed anything. In fact we had to get up and find her at the back of the restaurant to order some drinks.

We ordered some wine and 2 glasses of coke. The wine was warm and the coke was warm and flat, we asked for these to be replaced and received exactly the same quality again, I wonder if they even replaced them?

We didn't want to stay any longer so didn't order desert.

At the end of the meal we spoke to the manager/owner and expressed our concerns regarding the quality of food and the slowness of their service. He said he would offer us a free desert but couldn't do anything about the bill.

Overall I would say the restaurant looks really good and the location isn't too bad, unfortunately that's where the positives end. The food, service and attitude of the management are the worst I have received. At the end of the day the restaurant was empty at peak time, which says it all.

Don't let the look of the restaurant fool you, it looks slick but that's it! I don't see this restaurant being around this time next year!

NEVER AGAIN!

We, a group of bankers, IT guys and pharma execs, booked Tabla for Diwali celebration. The guy, i dont remember his name, was very eager and polished in his negotiation to book his place. Finally we booked the place!! now I know was big mistake.. On the day our friends and family started arriving... was dinner and dance party!!!! also two more groups had booked the place for their parties.. !!!! Food was really bad.. not delivered as agreed menu.. too much salt and oil.. we had agreed on chicken dish as well.. but was not served.. when we asked, after a long argument the guy checked his email and found that yes we had agreed.. by the time chicken dish came.. we were done with dinner.. so was no use!! Food was really bad!!!!! now let me come to the dance part.. during booking we were promised that we will have 'wonderful' time without any complain.. so called 'DJ' started playing music.. but he was playing for himself and for another group.. ONE DJ for 3 parties.. was always playing same type of music (always Bhangra).. we asked so many time to play something different (which was promised) but no success.. so finally we walked-out from the place with full of disappointment and with being cheated feeling.. !!! horrible experience.. never go there again!!! And the guy from Tabla was so rude that he never called to pay apologies for his unprofessionalism ... I guess for him it was business and money was in his pocket!!!

We had our engagement party at Tabla a couple of weeks ago and it was BRILLIANT!

Like a few reviewers on here, we had our reservations about Tabla when we were researching. However, from the point of booking our function to the end of the night, the staff at Tabla went the extra mile.

We had hired out the whole place for around 150 guests on a Sunday. The car park round the corner on Bell Road was just big enough to cope (and it's free on a Sunday). The 3 courses served were excellent with positive feedback from all our guests.

The management, Neeraj and Tej, were really friendly, helpful and supportive in making the event a success. They did not get frustrated despite the number of annoying visits, calls and emails, we made beforehand in planning the event.

All in all, not exactly sure what the other reviews are really fussing over - considering Tabla's service was exceptional in our eyes!

To put it simply, if your planning on holding a function and want a gorgeous contemporary venue with excellent staff that will do what ever it takes to make your day special then - Tabla is your venue!

I really can't understand these reviews about the fantastic food and service, BTW who comments on what wonderful management a restaurant has? Makes you wonder who is writing these positive reviews!

Anyway booked dinner for 6 on Thursday. Place was empty, the food is really overpriced considering its location and for that price you would expect something unique and of top quality.

Unfortunately the food was very bland and uninspiring, the service was OK but nothing you wouldn't expect from any other restaurant.

I would only go back if they improve the quality of the food and do something about the price. Would say its approx 30% too expensive.

Everytime I go to Hounslow I always have the urge to go to the Tabla to eat.

The food is great and the management staff are so lovely and friendly. I would definetly ask them for their recommendations on food.

We tried the chilli gobi the other day and it was fabulous!

This restaurant is great for a place to have a meal as well as hire as a private venue. We had our engagement party there and we couldn't have asked for more!

Oh and I have just seen that they updated their menus and they have shots of gol gappas with vodka! what a great invention!

I will definetly keep going back!

Organised a 40th birthday party here back in March and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Excellent night with the Management team extremely helpful in making the event a success. Definately a strong recommendation for an event, a great atmosphere and setting, coupled with good food. All the guests really enjoyed the party!
