An authentic gem, excellent food and atmosphere, helpful staff with a useful knowledge of wines. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection, the steak was the best I've tasted for a long time. NIce to see the owner walking the floor and talking to the customers.

I attended for an early lunch, 12:15 on Saturday 23 October, and we got a table straight away. Service was very efficient but not in your face. Calamari Fritti was very good as was the aubergine in tomato and mozzarella. Restaurant filled up very quickly and people were waiting (though not for long) by 13:00. If eating after 12:45 on a match day I would recommend booking.

The Chelsea Kitchen is back having moved from the King's Road, where it was extablished in 1962, it is now firmly rooted on the Fulham Road not far from Chelsea's Football Stadium and Fulham Broadway Underground.
The Chelsea Kitchen does what it says on the tin, or in this case its website - provides traditional home made food at affordable prices. I first called in there by chance as the regular restaurant I frequent when in London was closed for refurbishment. Now it is a question of one restaurant's gain being another restaurant's loss as I was totally captivated.
There is everything to like about this treasure. The lunchtime menu was extensive and varied catering for any number of individual tastes. It came freshly prepared and cooked and nicely presented. The staff are attenative and considerate and the surroundings were cheerful, light and airy. Oh and the seats were comfortable as well.
I went back there recently and had one of their Special Breakfasts. Absolutely delicious and when I left the place was full of obviously happy diners.
Although the food is competitively priced it also scored highly for those with a discerning palate. Go there and enjoy!

I used to go to the Chelsea Kitchen in the early 70's. The Chelsea Kitchen brought something way beyond food to many people - Of course the food was fantastic and cheap (I remember coq au vin costing 35p) but what it brought whilst you were in there, or even heading toward it, was a kind of dream of things being all right in the world. You can't replace a thing like that... it was a bit like the pollo in old compton street. I know this is nostaligic and I don't usually go in for that - but why oh why do these ridiculous and absurd money grabbing landlords ruin everything when when they die, they will go to their graves leaving all their profits behind them - the fools for making it worse for everyone....
