I always rely on this website's reviews as they give a good indication but this review has made me lose faith in this website. How can anyone rate this restaurant?? We were in the Putney area and googled "Italian restaurant Putney" and stumbled across Da Franco. From the reviews on this website we thought Da Franco would be a buzzy, little neighbourhood Italian trat with nice, inexpensive food. I really really wanted to turn around once I got a first look at the place. Tonight (a Friday night) the place was almost deserted. There is no atmosphere (hard lighting) and formal white tablecloths. Hardly buzzy or Italian or cosy. We had pastas - the canneloni was so so, the pasta with bacon and mushroom bad (mediocre at a stretch) and a very un-special pizza. I can't complain about the service: it was friendly and efficient. (But no Italian accent in sight.) We made the mistake of ordering tiramisu for dessert. The worst tiramisu on this planet, ever. Let me repeat - the worst tiramisu EVER. It was so bad it was insulting.
Anyway, not a great place. No recommendations here...

Great food, good laid back atmosphere and friendly efficient staff. I have lived locally to Da Franco's all my life, but this was my first time of eating in there and must say it was an absolute pleasure and the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in and great value for money!

excellent all year round amazing quality italian food and great true italian ice cream. a brilliant wine list and exceptional service. a must for adults and children. very warm reception indeed. beautiful food.

Great to unwind and relax, very near the Putney high street.
