Two of us went on Saturday night for a birthday meal. We had high expectations - but were let down.
The starter I ordered was raw (prawns not cooked) - but they deducted this from the bill. We got the wrong desert but this was changed, no problem - but the bill still contained both teh wrong and teh right desert. The toilets were "shabby" and in need of a clean. Cost was high end and definately didn't reflect in what was received. Sadly won't be returning.

This pleasant and somewhat self-conscious restaurant has served us very well on two occasions now. The price is high-endish but we should encourage more of this sort of restaurant in the area. Ealing residents are not poor and the trip to chiswick or futher afield should not always be necessary.

My boyfriend and I booked beforehand for 7pm dining on a Saturday evening. We got there early and was expecting a full house but we were the first to arrive. We had to ring a doorbell to get in which gave it a homely feel. The waiting staff were fantastic! They were polite and chatty and even gave us extra bread without us having to ask. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the wood pidgeon which was cooked to perfection - with flavours I'd never thought would have worked. However, the icing on the cake came when we had our desserts. The creme brulee was one of the best i've tasted but my boyfriend's chocolate tower was the best ever!! One thing I would say though, the restuarant is very very pricey!! I also think that the price is the reason why the restuarant had only 4 tables at its peak time on a saturday evening. Nonetheless, we both came out extremely satisfied, although with a dent in our bank accounts!

Couldn't fault the restaurant on any level. Food was cooked to perfection, selection hard to choose from as all looked inviting. Damn! Will have to go many times! We were six and agreed on it's excellence. If it had start up wobblies it certainly hasn't them now. Service was exceptionally good. Live music not intrusive but good background.

On the night we visited we were the second group to arrive and there were five of us. An hour and a half later our main course had still not arrived, despite three reminders to the waiter. Service was friendly but obviously novice.
The menu was unoriginal and, we felt, overpriced.
Far better to go to The Brackenbury or La Trompette.

We went soon after the restaurant had a revamp to what seems a Mediterranean style menu and lower prices than previously. Not having eaten there when it was in its previous format, which had loyal followers, I can only say it was disappointing. Cooking was ordinary, not up to a good gastro-pub, the service, although charming, was all over the place and it did not in my opinion justify the prices asked. Perhaps this was bedding-in, but I would sooner head to Ealing Park Tavern, or, looking upmarket, La Trompette in Chiswick.
