Service in this place is unbelievable!!!!!! U will not believe the way they treat customers! The place over there is like a jungle while u shout out for someone to even take your order while they walk away after looking at you IN THE EYE! The guy who serviced us (who turns out to be the manager who should be the best at providing a good service!) starting shouting us and i mean it SHOUTING because we asked for nan bread after we got the main course! I swear this is what really happened.. Like I don't understand how can such a big restaurent with a reputation that says their food is very good (i didnt really find it amazing aftr what happened and their service) treat a table of 20 people in such a horrible way! I never really write reviews no matter how good or bad what am writing about is, but on that night, and at that place i went crazy at the manager! Even though am a very patient lady who's very easy going and always appreciate waitors work and effort and always respect them but i went mad on that manager after he started shouting at me because i simply didn't hear him when he came to our table and was askign who ordered chicken curry (my dish) .. Even though he apologised for raising his voice at me .. I still would never recommend this place to anyone because this place is simply hopeless, unprofessional and the service is like a nightmare!

Khans came highly recommended by friends, who I went with recently. Mind you they haven't been to Khans for 3-4 years. I understood that Khans has been in business for over 30 years and I was looking forward all week to eating there.
Shocking is one word to describe my experience at Khans. The food was not of a high standard. The mixed grill is one of the worst mixed I have ever had, the King Prawn was beyond a joke, the whole set went cold after 5 minutes. I expected the Mixed Grill to come out slizzling but it looked wet. The King Prawn was..lol..
I won't bother giving Khans another visit, I set my expectations to a high standard and Khans let me down. I don't really care for venue funiture and settings, as it is clean and the food is sensational, but Khans can only be described as fast food. Food that has been cooked in bulk mass production and just served. Now, I wouldn't have any problems with that kind of set up, if they food was nice.
Anyways, all I can say is, give it another chance or a chance. Cause places do have their up's and downs. If Khans has been running for 31 years, then they must be doing something right.

We have just returned back to Germany after having meal on seven occasions at Khans in London and we tell you clearly that we loved it greatly. There are two reasons for that. First the food was very very tasty and secondly, it was relatively reasonably priced as compared to the other curry restaurants in London. In Germany, the curry restaurants are very very expensive, so our who family stuffed as much curry while being in London as we all could. We sent a special complimentary card to the manager of Khans for the great food & service which he offered us. When we re-visit London sometimes in the summer of 2011, we will go straight to Khans restaurant from Heathrow & will eat as much curry as we possibly can in a single day. Thanks Khans for such great food & service. We have recommended you to all our friends & family members in Germany.

Went there on Saturday night and have to say it was disappointing compared to such great memories of this place when i used to go with friends after a movie at Whiteley's about 15 years ago..
Granted it's Ramadan so they would probably be busier than normal, and most of the staff would most likely be fasting too so maybe not up to their best standards, but the service really was not up to much at all.. My friend tried 3 times to ask for some tap water and dates and on the third attempt was told by the waiter that he was too busy! The table next to us were having similar problems in trying to find out where the meal they had ordered half an hour before was..
We finally managed to order the main meal but again after some waiting..
My chicken korma and rice was ok, but a couple of the pieces of chicken seemed under-cooked and which I had to put to one side..
Atmosphere has gone down considerably over the years too from a sumptuous Indian restaurant to a canteen atmosphere...
Such a shame as this restaurant used to be one of my favourites in the area..

always use to wonder why this restaurant is busy, so i told my mate lets go and try . We both excited, but the dissappointed started the time we entered inside.
were standing at the door for 5 mins. for someone to notice us, then we were given a table next to kitchen were i could see the dish washing machine. waited for 15 mins to get someone attention to take our order.
ordered popodams, waiter goes to sidestation refills the chutneys containers which was picked up from the table next to us.
tandoori chicken - looks beautiful, but tasteless, flavourless. felt like eating plain cooked chicken with some colour and salt on it.
curries too oily, nans good but what the use.
we decided we would never go there again.(hint - masala zone next to them why would i go there again.
now i know why people go there, because its cheap.

i am a foodie lover love eating out lol we went to khans last nite with my bros and sisters and admit it wasnt all amazing in terms of the food which was average and also chewy on my meat to be honest... lol umm the highlight was the pretty tasty non alcoholic drinks such as the pineapple colado which i had yummy... the atmosphere wasnt cosy cosy more of a fast food place... waiters seemed walking abt for not particular reason or either in one corner talking alot - took my brother few glances at them to get attention for us to pay the bill lol
anyways average experience will give average markin. May not go there again only if i am walking around bayswater again

I like Khan's as it really is cheap and the food is good, especially for the price. Students at London's University frequent this place as it is the closest to a decent curry on a student's budget. Their bryani chicken is nice and as 1 dish provides all the nutrients with plenty of rice, can satisfy a student's hunger. Their Llahssa (a nice form of liquid yoghurt, either vanilla, plain, mango) is a real thirst quencher. In some countries this would be called thyroo. Instead of the Walmart's slogan of stack them high and sell them cheap, their motto appears to be pack them tight and charge them cheap. True they may not be Veeraswamy's , but at this price, who is complainig!!

We have dined at Khan's several times over the past two decades and have noted the increased prices and decreased attention to service. The quality of the fare varies dramatically from visit to visit, and the waiters usually appear to be in a state of frenzied panic (take Manuel from Fawlty Towers and multiply him by 20), an indication that the management may not be particularly efficient.
A pity that beer is no longer served.
