Food was fantastic, it's definately typical panjabi food the menu was great. I loved the kathi kabbab(chicken) and the amritsari fish The fish tikka and chic tikka on the bone was pretty good too. main dishes are unmissable the home made style asli chicken curry comes on thebone, masala lamb a house specialityis made of tender lamb in a richly textured north indian masala sauce Garlic nans were fab

This place is awful. I would not recommend it to anyone who enjoys asian food.

having read silmilar reviews I have to agree with them in that I would not go back.

Its a shame because it used to be nice.

I would recommend going to stanmore instead, where you will find a much better place to eat - spice rack.

Had a good evening until the bill arrived - we were considerably overcharged for drinks!! Apparently 61 shots of bacardi were drunk by 3 people... how ridiculous is that?!?!? Really soured our mood to be faced with daylight robbery and because of this will never go back again.

First off, I'd like to say the management of this place was absolute pants.

Waiting for just over 2 hours for a main course is NOT my idea of fun, at all.

You would have thought a place like that, family orientated, good reviews all around, would be a good place to have your birthday celebrations... this place is NOT it. I can safely say, these people managed to ruin my 21st birthday celebrations, leaving my family and friends and myself obviously extremely unhappy.

I was actually very very annoyed by the fact that the management actually "took pity on us" and "didn't want to see us leave unhappy"... too little too late in my opinion.

Yes the food was ok, but atmosphere, no. Advance bookings mean sod all to these people and quite frankly, if I go to a restaurant I expect to be approached and asked if I am ready for my food, not the other way around.

The bar service was utterly miserable - didn't get a word of politeness out of the bartender and when I asked for a drink, he appeared to pour one, leave it on the side and go and tend to another customer - only to come back 15 minutes later to give me my drink... and then expect me to be happy about it. No thanks mate.

If your idea of a good meal with family and/or friends is to be kept waiting for food, rudely refused food because your party haven't all arrived, and to have to keep getting up to prompt the waitress for food... go to this place. I certainly never, ever will again.

I thought this place was the pits and we will definitely NEVER go there again. We were totally screwed over.

We booked a table for 12 in advance, but due to a bereavement in the family, there were only 8 of us and the manager still wanted to charge for 12.

They also refused to serve the food until everyone was seated, including the 4 who couldn't make it!

And then the service was lousy to say the least. It was 3 hours before we got our main course! Our waitress didn't even bother tending to us for the rest of the night. I had to keep going up and asking someone to serve the next course.

We were seated close to the kitchen so we were coughing the whole time due to the smoke.

Even the bar staff were incredibly slow.

It seemed they were serving anyone who rolled in off the street before us even though we got there before most and paid a deposit.

They were also very argumentative.

The food was average and we left 5 hours later and really cheesed off.

I honestly think that Zanzibar is an excellent restaurant where the food is probably the best that i have had in a long time and the service is also fantastic thanks to an amazing owner called Sameer Malik and his wife Sheetal Malik and a beautiful nephew called Shalin Kataria who is extremely sexy.

Having chanced upon this place I am a regular visitor now. The Lamb chops are the best I've tasted anywhere, very tender and cooked just right.

Another reason I go there, and take everyone there, is the service which is friendly, warm, and down to earth.

The decor has been given special attention to and the artwork adorning the walls is modern indian atits best representing just what ZanZiBar has acheived.
