I have dined in this place a number of times over the years. Sometimes with family and friends, and at times with my colleagues. In all my visits there, I including my friends, colleagues and family have always found the food outstanding in quality and the hospitality very casual and friendly. Despite being busy on one Saturday evening, the waitress even pacified my crying son whose yell I thought was annoying the other guests and was becoming quite embarrassing to us.

If you like great north Indian food Zan Zi Bar is the place not to be missed. Highly recommendable. We will keep going there and I would also like to take this opportunity the thank the management and the staff for doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

What shall I say about this place? The name speaks itself.

Zanzibar - One of the most beautiful island in the east of Africa.

Likewise, Zanzibar restaurant - One of the hidden gem in the heart of Edgware. We went there on Christmas Eve upon a friend’s recommendation. Our friend suggested that this is the best Indian Food in North London and he specially mentioned its better than many other Indian Restaurants in City which are far too expensive and cook English version of Indian food. Though we were a bit hesitant but all our fears came to rest as soon as we entered the place and were greeted by friendly staff.

The Decor and ambience is mesmerizing, and it's a perfect place for a nice evening. The interiors are spell binding and clever use of lighting and space makes the place look brighter and aesthetic. They have two plasmas TV and a massive projector screen on which they had Indian music on to add extra entertainment to the evening.

The food was authentic and I must say THE BESTEST we have ever eaten in UK. This restaurant truly qualifies to be INDIAN CUISINE. They have a massive collection of drinks behind the bar with their enticing cocktails/mocktails/shooters menu.

We had chicken tikka on the bone, lamp chops, their popular tawa kathi kebab roll and tandoori aloo (barbeque potatoes stuffed with paneer) for starters. I must say I am not a keen veggie but the tandoori aloo was simply too good. It was perfect ROAST with a bit of spices and mint & tamarind chutney.

For the main course we had lamb biryani, daal makhni, and asli (real) chicken curry dish with pudina parathans and garlic naan bread. The food quality and presentation was no less than a michelin starred restuarant.

The deserts and the paan (Indian mouth freshener) just was perfect closing for a truly memorable and amazing food experience.

I would highly recommend this place for people who have passion for good food INDIAN STYLE.

The Best Indian restaurant in London!

I am a regular as the food is superb!

Being a "foodie" I have dined at the top Indian restaurants that London can offe rand im my humble opinion Zanzibar is the best!

Pramod the manager ensures that his staff are attentive, courteous but not overwhelming or intruding. He, himself is amiable, professional and hospitable and always seems to be on site!

The only downside is that it is not cheap. However .it is not extortionately expensive. If you want burger prices then go to a burger bar!

Warning: The portions are big!

I particularly like the talpia fish ( if they think that the fish isn't big enough then they give you two for the price of one!), tandoori prawns and fish tikka! I've heard the chicken tikka is good too!

In summary; Fantastic food, great service, friendly staff and atmosphere, reasonably priced!

This place is awful. I would not recommend it to anyone who enjoys asian food.

having read silmilar reviews I have to agree with them in that I would not go back.

Its a shame because it used to be nice.

I would recommend going to stanmore instead, where you will find a much better place to eat - spice rack.
