Saturday, August 01, 2009 - The fatoush was as good and fresh a salad as I've had in ages, zinging with herby, lemony loveliness and served with two types of delectable bread. The seductively named foul moukala laced broad beans with coriander and olive oil. Hot mezze were just as good. Grilled halloumi came studded with little black dots the identity of which was not resolved by a game of Guess That Spice with the waiter (my fiver was on burnt cumin, so we can rule that out), but the cheese was creamier and less waxen than usual, and, in a great taste and texture combination, went beautifully with spicy lamb sausages (sojuk sadda).

The food is brilliant - cannot fault it and the portions are generous. The management really need to do something about the arrogant macho attitude of the waiters which really spolis a restaurant which has so much going for it.

I went there with my parents and i have to say though their food is good i was completely dissatisfied with the service. They charged us to just sit at the restaurant, i have never come across such a condition in London! And when i asked the waiter he had a million excuses; instead of properly serving the food, they literally threw everything on the table. Worst experience ever.

My husband and I dined here on 14/11/2009 and we found it very good. The food was outstanding and the service far better than we'd expected after reading other reviews. It is a small place and depending on your point of view could be considered cosy or cramped, I prefer cosy. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes and I would not hesitate to recommend it. We were quite possibly the only non-lebanese patrons during our visit and I see that as a good reflection on the authenticity of the food. We're converted regulars!

Although the tabbouleh and fatoush salads were great, not a single meat dish was satisfactory. The chicken was dry and tough, the kofte was bland and dry. None of the meat was served at the right temperature. The Halloumi cheese was bad quality and improperly grilled. The moutabbal was an insult to my favorite Lebanese dip - it was actually inedible. Ambient temperature too hot. Worst Lebanese meal over 20 pounds in London. This was quite a good place back in 2007. I have no idea what has happened.
