Saturday, August 01, 2009 - The fatoush was as good and fresh a salad as I've had in ages, zinging with herby, lemony loveliness and served with two types of delectable bread. The seductively named foul moukala laced broad beans with coriander and olive oil. Hot mezze were just as good. Grilled halloumi came studded with little black dots the identity of which was not resolved by a game of Guess That Spice with the waiter (my fiver was on burnt cumin, so we can rule that out), but the cheese was creamier and less waxen than usual, and, in a great taste and texture combination, went beautifully with spicy lamb sausages (sojuk sadda).

I´ve been to this restaurant many times and it never fails to satisfy me! Last week I went for the fist time in a while and I was struck by how elegant the place looks. They´ve had some refurbishment done which gives the place a whole new ambience, relaxed, chic, initimate. The food, as always, was incredible, absolutely melt in your mouth. No matter what you order you will not be disspointed. My favourites are the humous with lamb, fatuche salad (always delicious!) and the falafel (the best in London, I never truly kne a good falafel until I ate at Ishbilia), the list goes on. Besides the taste of the food the plates actually look like works of art, clearly there is a lot of artisitic flare in the kitchen. The staff are so welcoming and warm, everytime we visit it feels like a ´returning home´. The meal is always toped and tailed with fresh veg and fresh fruit, a good off-set for the guilty indlugence about to come. If you over do it (and its hard not too) make sure and asked for some fesh peppermint tea, that well re-balance you and make you look at the tempting dish of baklava with fresh, eager eyes!

Ishbilia is still one of the best lebanese restaurant, the food is excellent it's always crowded and full around the whole week and waiters doing not bad with the pressure as I can see but if I was a waiter i don't think that I would be better in everything, but if you are going places to complaints you would find things whether at Ishbilia or another... So go and dine at different places and ask for Hommos and lots of bread and Tap water and see what you will get... at least you are still welcome at Ihsbilia.

I went there for lunch yesterday 03/02/2011 and I was amazed with the a delicious food and a generous portion I had foul medemes and hummos topped with chopped lamb . I must say the hummos was creamy with a generous amount of meat which I could not finish. the service could be more attentive. I would go back for sure.

This place is disgusting! The food was foul, the waiters were rude and surly, the environment was cramped and it was over priced.

We had a row with a waiter over providing us with water. We were there for 2 hours, having booked in for the banquet. I got as far as the cold starter and the hot starter - most of which was inedible before I cut my losses and left.

The most dissatisfying restaurant experience I have ever had - how does this place stay open???

Ishbilia is one of the most well known lebanese restaurants in London, Food is always fresh and the staff always give very good advice of a nice combination if you are not familiar of lebanese food... food always fresh and known by this reputation to customers and others. it's a busy so to expect a waiter by your side sometimes it's hard but we have often find the waiters really up to our expectation which excellent.

The food is brilliant - cannot fault it and the portions are generous. The management really need to do something about the arrogant macho attitude of the waiters which really spolis a restaurant which has so much going for it.
