Fernandez & Wells Coffee Bar

I simply love this place. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the very friendly staff know their stuff. They greeted me like a regular of 10 years after only a few visits, unlike practically anywhere else in London, where service seems to be a dirty word.

You may wait a few minutes for your coffee, but when you do, any residue of impatience simply slips away in velvety bliss. A few weeks ago, a friend was about to put a spoonful of sugar into her espresso, when one of the staff asked her to try it without, as the beans were at particularly fruity at that point and she may not need the extra sweetness. She was right. Besides the drinks, the Barry's Tea is very good too, the sweet stuff is excellent, as are the savouries.

Once F&W'd you will never go to another chain again. Ring dem bells.
