Had lunch today on the advice of London Eating reviewers and have to say I completely agree with the positive feedback. We had pork belly and steak for mains and crumble and chocolate brownie for desert. So far so straightforward, but quality was excellent and the ambience of the pub was perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon. We'll be back....

visited the Chelsea Ram on Friday 28th September - fab food, excellent service and the atmosphere was great. Liam and his staff run a great pub - as a visitor from the North I was greatly impressed with such a friendly, un-pretentious pub and suggest moving it to Sheffield....????

Had lunch in the Chelsea Ram today and was extremely impressed with the food quality, staff service and atmosphere.

The new manager, Liam, is very attentive, and his team of staff do their utmost to offer great informal service.

The food is as good as it has ever been and we all felt it was the best value for money of any place we had recently eaten in the SW area.

Well done - great pub - I will return!!

From about 1996 - 2004 I used to come in here all the time as it was just around the corner from work . The Ram was a fantastic pub and had just the right blend of 'gastro' and local pub. I honestly think it was up there in the 'Best pub in London' league. My friends who lived all over London would also regularly meet here as the food, atmosphere and staff were all fantastic.

I think things slipped a little a few years ago, the food wasn't quite as special and the atmosphere seemd to change a little. I also moved away so didn't visit as often.

However, I'm now back and am delighted to report the Ram is also back on form. Over the last 6 months I've returned several times and it's great to see the place back to how it should be. Well done to all those involved.

Keep up the good work!

Many moons ago,I used to work at the Ram when Gavin was manager, Dan Brinklow was the chef and Scottish Kate was ready with an acerbic put down to passersby. (If you are a local, you can work out the year)

On the back of these fond memories I returned in 2004 for a valedictory tour of this and other boozers around the area. I was deeply disappointed with the staff, the food and just about everything else in between. Even the local faces seemed to have gone.

It was with a certain amount of trepidation that I went back on my last visit to London..... well it was wonderful, great food, a (surely) crazy manager with an infectious bonhomie and an atmosphere I have not witnessed in a London pub for many years.

Long may it continue

About a year ago I posted a review of this place saying how it had gone downhill. Well I returned last night and the difference between the place I remembered and the place I went to last night couldn't have been more different! A really great redecoration must have happenned as it is a much more modern looking place but without losing that charm that separates a pub from some antiseptic chain wine bar.

The food was teriffic. Absolutely perfect pub grub - admittedly upmarket and not cheap - but absolutely delicious. Matched with a beautifully kept pint of Youngs I will definitely be coming back on a regular basis.

As a local who lives almost equidistant from the Lots Road Dining Room I can't choose between the two. They're both different and both great. I can see me getting very fat in the upcoming months!!

What a great local pub.

The food goes from strength to strength - apparently there's a new chef - and the staff - especially Henry & Trevor - make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door.

The youngs bitter is always in top condition too.

Long may it continue.....!

In a city where expectations are very high, I doubt there is such a thing as a 'local pub'. We are given so much choice and expect so much that an establishment like the Ram need to keep up with our expectations and with the times. I LOVE the Ram's atmosphere, Henry is a perfect host, successfully making you feel a person rather than just a punter.

The menu is always good and with their very reasonable lunchtime specials - popping in for a bite isn't going to break the bank! I recommend the fishcakes, homemade and with a mushy pea sauce, delish!! They have introduced a curry evening which is going down a storm too.

It can get smokey though and even with a no smoking section at the back, it's of little use.

Oh and one last thing, if you don't book for a Sunday lunch, forget it - you'll end up waiting to be served for dinner instead!

“The Chelsea Ram” is a fantastic pub and loved by most locals and working locals alike. Henry always manages to make everyone feel welcome (despite always running from one end of the bar to the other). Best looking bar staff for miles around and Shane is currently a favourite amongst most at my company. Food and service always exceptional. Always worth a visit for a swift “ Winter Warmer”. Go and make your own mind up…. Merry Christmas guys!!!
