I thought the food was great homely pub food at a reasonable price. I had the pork chop and would recommend a visit.

Every place can have an off night, but this was disappointing after personal recommendation and strong reviews. Service was very friendly but hit and miss - ordered bread and oil never materialised. Crab cakes small and overcooked. Salmon fillets similarly small and seriously overcooked. Pork belly was dry and lacking taste/seasoning. Salads were ok but uninspiring. Chips and beer were top class, but these didn't save the evening. We were a party of eight which may have stretched the kitchen - but if it did they shouldn't accept bookings of eight.

Overall this was average pub food at overaverage prices - not the best of British pub dining experience I was looking to show off to my American visitors who were gracious about the atmosphere but were justifiably unimpressed by the food.

I took my parents to the Chelsea Ram last night as I was so impressed with the reviews I had seen on this site. I was not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was simply outstanding. My dad chose the pok belly with black pudding, my mum had the fish cakes and I had the corn fed chicken with gnocchi and chorizo and leeks. We all agreed it was the best gastro pub food we've had and was very reasonably priced.

I was sad I didn't have room for dessert because the warm banana bread with butterscotch sauce and ice cream had caught my eye, but I will definitely go back there and save some room!

It's still a great pub!!

Liam and his team continue to impress.

Please do not let it slip - it is so refreshing to go to such a superb place, and it is so easy for standards to drop.......

Food is as ever excellent value for money and very well created. Top marks to the chef.

3 cheers for the Chelsea Ram!!!!!

My partner & I jouneyed all the way from Northampton to The Chelsea Ram following reviews on various sites. Today was Good Friday and I thought we'd struggle to get a lunch slot but my fears were not realised and a table for two was no problem. At first glace the menu looked a tad limited with half a dozen starters & 7 or 8 mains along with 4 Specials on the blackboard. The Wine list was very good so before jumping into the food order we ordered a NZ Matui Sauv Blanc which at £20 wasn't bad but felt a wee touch so before we'd had a chance to sample the food. I ordered Sardines & Tomatoes on Bruschetta and my partner went for the Homemade Soup of the Day (Med Veg) to start. Unfortunately the kitchen was out of sardines so I reordered my starter and this time stumped for Pan Fried Mushrooms on Bruschetta with a Duck's Egg on top. Thereafter ladies and gents, I was in heaven...this could be the best, most flavoursome starter I've ever eaten (partner blown away too by her mouthful). Excellent! The Soup got a thumbs up too. The mains were a Chelsea Ram Salad for her and Homemade Salmon & Cod Fishcakes for me....again awesome! Good honest, non-pretentious food served with knowledgablw and attentive staff in a relaxed and welcoming surrounding. We could have stayed all afternoon and the wine (by now) was appearing cheap! The whole lot came to £50 and I'd have been happy to pay double. DO NOT miss this place if you're out on the Kings Road!!

A thoroughly good time was had by all, our Christmas Dinner was on time, food was delicious, good sized portions and enjoyed by everyone. The manager Liam, and all his staff were friendly, efficient, and attentive and provided an excellent service.

On returning to the Chelsea Ram - I am hugely relieved to find that it is still as consistently brilliant as ever.

The manager - Liam I think - and his team are as attentive as they were last time I was here, and the food from the kitchen is as top notch as before.

Good to see standards are still high and that those cold plates have been consigned to the history books......

Long may the good local continue......

Had lunch today on the advice of London Eating reviewers and have to say I completely agree with the positive feedback. We had pork belly and steak for mains and crumble and chocolate brownie for desert. So far so straightforward, but quality was excellent and the ambience of the pub was perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon. We'll be back....

visited the Chelsea Ram on Friday 28th September - fab food, excellent service and the atmosphere was great. Liam and his staff run a great pub - as a visitor from the North I was greatly impressed with such a friendly, un-pretentious pub and suggest moving it to Sheffield....????

Had lunch in the Chelsea Ram today and was extremely impressed with the food quality, staff service and atmosphere.

The new manager, Liam, is very attentive, and his team of staff do their utmost to offer great informal service.

The food is as good as it has ever been and we all felt it was the best value for money of any place we had recently eaten in the SW area.

Well done - great pub - I will return!!
