decor is great, but that's kind of the only positive. Food is mediocre and overpriced, but on par with this chains pricing scheme and local comparatives. The tables are crammed in so to maximise seating/profits at the expense of guests comfort. We sat on a table arrangement where space to slide between tables had gangway of 6 inches. You literally shuffled through to sit and the table clusters were silly. The worst thing however is service, it's beyond poor. You basically have to ask for everything, like you being there is some big inconvenience. The waiters can see the mess as they bring you the next order of drinks, but will not bother clearing it, we must of had a table of 20odd so you can imagine the chaos. The restaurant wasn't even that busy, it's just plain lack of due care. The worst incident of the night however was that one of the kids we had with us (baby under two) had a bit of an accident and vomited on the floor right under the table. We informed the staff and some relaxed time later, they simply left a roll of tissue on the table? They didn't come back and on getting a waiter/hostess back, they advised they are not cleaners and it's not their job to sort??? Baffled really but one of our guests cleaned it up themselves with the tissue, and then the various lengths of tissue with puke on it had to be left on the floor as they didn't/couldn't be bothered to even take it away. This is the mentality of this restaurant. On complaining about it, we were told a manager would come to address this....did he come....nope. Kind of expectant based on the service received really. It's one to avoid.

A shambolic affair from start to finish, we went with a group of 12 for a birthday celebration but it turned out to be a nightmare. It took 2 waiters and 45 minutes for us to even get a drink, and the food came an hour and a half later which had to be sent back for being cold.

The table next to us actually left half way through their starters as they had also waited over an hour for their food and came out cold to them.

When we spoke to the manager, who by the way was the most arrogant person possible, did not seem bothered and said that we could see that they were really busy today and that he would not be giving us a discount due to the wait. We had not even asked him for a discount and actually called him over to find out why we had still not got our drinks that were ordered an hour ago.

I would not ever recommend the Abercorn for a celebration dinner, in fact I would not recommend it for anything, food was average to poor, service was despicable and management even worse!

Went to the restaurant this weekend.. ambience was great.. however we had to ask for the menu as the waiters didnt provide it to us as soon as we sat down. Waited 30mins for drinks.. food: starters were good however we've had much better mains elsewhere. Naan was fresh - i think this was the only thing which was tasty! We had to wait 30 mins for the table to be cleaned between the starters and mains. Waiters just seemed dis-intetested in serving customers.

Overall- extremely poor service. Poor food. Wont be going back/ recommending to friends/ family.

Went to this restaurant tonight. Food was ok but not as good as it used to be. The staff were quite rude so asked to speak to the manager who was even ruder. Aggressive and rude and hypercritical. Won't go back again. Shame as used to be a good restaurant.

Went there for the first time in over a year with the wife and 3 friends. Boy have I missed this place! The negative reviews below surely be written by owners of other competing restaurants in the area (there seems to be a bitter rivalry). If this place was that bad then it wouldn't have been as rammed as it was last night, it was heaving, every table was full and the place had a brilliant atmosphere. These guys are clearly experts in their business.

Absolutely everything was spot on, the service, the food, the promptness of everything, the portion sizes, the taste,,,everything. How they served us so quickly with the number of people they had is beyond me. We had Chilli Fish, Achari chicken Tikka and Masala Lamb Chops for starters, and for mains, Masala Lamb, home Style chicken curry and Dal Makhani (which in particular was very authentic), plus rice and breads, Came to around £24 a head which is about the going rate I reckon as it included drinks as well, everyone had a great time. Will look forward to going there again.
