The pub in its present format is of course better than what came before it. The service is weak as has been noted, but that comes with the territory - one often has to skip dessert to get home on time from a gastropub. However, my real gripe are the prices - they are too high - some local restaurants with a better menu and better service are much cheaper.

I am 9 years old, so I'm probably not expected to enjoy going for a meal in the middle of a pub. But here, I can make an exception. The food is fantastic, service excellent, and the apmosphere didn't bother me at all unlike in some restuarants/pubs. Brilliant, brilliant brilliant. I really recommend The Bridge.

Probably my favourite gastro pub south of the river. Service and food remains top quality and the atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly. Ask Murray to make you one of his wicked 'bloody mary's'

Great place and great atmosphere. We went there before theater and we got the 12 pounds deal for two courses. Every dish was absolutely very good and for the price it is a stunning deal – although I would have happily paid the full price. Really flavorful and tasty food.

We were recommended the Bridge by friends of ours and popped in on a Friday night. We hadn't made a reservation so we shown to the bar until a table became free. The staff behind the bar were frindly and most helpful in recommending a bottle of wine. When our table was ready we sat down in the back restaurant and it was refreshing to have a waitress that was enthusiastic about the menu and once again recommended her favourite dishes.

We shared the baked camembert for starters and even though we had to wait a while for our mains the result was worth it. My husband had the surf and turf and i had the pork both were well cooked and full of flavour.

For desserts we tucked into the banoffee pie and lemon and lime tart.

We had a great time there and will definatley be back, i only wish that we had something close to us that had the same warm ambience and friendly staff.

Although we hadn't booked we went down to the Bridge on Friday night, we were asked to wait at the bar until a table was available. We didn't have to wait too long before the manager took us into the restaurant. The Bridge has recently changed their menu and there is a great selection to choose from - i recommend the ostrich.

It was nice to see staff enthusiastic about suggesting wines from their diverse list.

We had lovely starters and our mains were a little long but as our waitress had let us know we didn't mind.

Me and the girls will certainly be spending more of our cold winter evenings at this great local venue.

When I came back from the Bridge I felt like a stuffed Christmas turkey. Although I had not been there for a year, I was pleased to note that the drinks, food and service are meeting the high standards that were implemented when the Bridge was converted from a scabby old pub to a destination venue. Still a gorgeous varied menu and the friendly staff are falling over themselves to be helpful, without being pushy.

Had a party in my mouth with the lovely duck spring rolls & hoisin sauce with tasty salad garnish and had the 28 day old Argentinian aged steak for my main. Although I was having breathing problems at this point, I wanted more from this kitchen- so I finished off with a lemon and lime tart complete with clotted cream and finished every last bite. The crowning glory was the beautiful espresso martini- double vodka shaken with a shot of espresso and sugar syrup and served in a martini glass. Its like your alcoholic caffeine hit that does wonders after an over indulging meal. Dined alone in the lounge area but can't wait to take my boyfriend there for a romantic meal in the proper dining room there.

Love it, love it, love it! Go and see for yourself!
