Chiquito Restaurant & Bar

We recently visited the Staples Corner branch and found the portions for the price very disapointing. we asked for extra tomato and found to our dismay that we were charged £2.95 for one tomato when we queried this the waitress told us we have no button for tomato so I charged you for a side salad, the manger was also very unconcerned by this. We left feeling we had certainly not had value for money in either food or service.

It was nearly 10 years ago when I last visited this restaurant but its little changed. They park you in the bar for quite a while even though there are loads of empty tables. Part of the getting you to spend in the bar while you are waiting. I had salmon fishcakes which were really quite good. My friends buritos looked very stodgy with hardly any filling. Main courses are about £8-£12 each. Starters and sweets about £3.95.
All in all its a rather formulaic place but they had a singing guitarist tonight who was quite good and certainly added to the pleasant atmosphere. It seems to appeal to the 20s-30s and quite a lot of couples with children although its quite a lot more expensive than the rather similar Nandos. Its certainly a nice looking environment and if the service and food were more refined could almost be quite romantic. Its very suitable for hen parties although none there tonight, mostly couples or two girls.
