A jewel in the crown of North London
The Junction never fails to impress me.
The staff are friendly, efficient and professional, the food is always prepared and presented to perfection.
Whenever I have been here, I always find they strike the prefect balance between good service and allowing you to really relaxed and enjoy the experience.
Not to be missed..just try it!!

Been here a few times over the past 2 years of living in London. Always on a Friday night and always at the last minute - and always given great service. The manager does everything to make sure you're seated and served and happy and the food is always great. This Friday was no exception - two large parties of diners eating and some quite rude/shouty diners on another table nearby, but the plates came moving and the wine was still served with great efficiency. Highly recommended.

I've eaten at the Junction Tavern several times and it's been consistently good on each visit.
Booking by phone has been easy. Friendly manager and staff on arrival. Menu is always interesting and changes frequently, perhaps daily.
On the last visit, the Sunday dinner roast chicken was excellent. Perfectly cooked and a generous portion with roast potatoes and other veggies. Perfect gravy too. We also had a very good vegetarian gnocchi dish and grilled tuna with lentils.
Starters and deserts also excellent all round. Nice hearty portion sizes also. I like the fact they they bring a bottle of tap water to the table (no pushing expensive bottled water). The drinks menu is well thought through. You can have wine or pints from the bar. Some good sherries recently featured as well.
The whole place is just well run with competence and efficiency in a nice relaxed setting. The chefs here really know what they are doing and the standard is very high. Service always friendly. In fact it's one of my favourite places to eat.

Firstly, if you want a guaranteed table call and book, especially on weekends. First impressions: nicely decorated rooms, not too busy, friendly staff not afraid to talk to you at a personal level. A4 long menu, perhaps an indication that it changes often. Overall great variety for all tastes, nothing too pretentious. I must say, it took me a while to decide on my two courses.
The starter arrived quickly along with a bottle of Shiraz which despite the fact that it wasn't very expensive was very good indeed. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes impressively presented. My partner and I tried each other's food agreeing that both choices were outstanding.
The main courses took a while to arrive as the restaurant got full very quickly after we ordered. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely! Perfectly cooked, excellent flavoring, great presentation, good quantity. I had the pork fillet with apple sauce (made by the chef) on a bed of mash with a touch of gravy around the edges. My partner had the rib-eye steak (medium) with real potato chips and green salad. Again, all freshly cooked in the open kitchen, perfectly put on a plate by a team of chefs that really love what they do.
Value for money: if you want cheap food this t won't be your obvious choice. The prices are relatively high but you get what you pay for. Quality!
Impressive wine list honestly priced.
Recommended unreservedly!

One word will do it.....disappointed. After the reviews below, as well as very positive comments from friends i decided to give the junction tavern a bash. The staff are lovely and it's a pub with character and a great beer garden, nevertheless i was terribly underwhelmed by the food, not only in choice but also in execution. I began with asparagus, poached egg and parmesan (a magnifying glass was required to see it), which was passable, but hardly set the world alight. Main was salmon, baby gem, sauteed potatoes, broad beans - the baby gem quickly lost its crispness to become a brown mush on the plate, the potatoes were hard and the salmon a bit greasy. Unfortunately, there was nothing else that really piqued my interest, so i left, as i said, disappointed.

This is a great little restaurant.
We think the menu is always interesting, the staff attentive and it's somewhere we often come for special occasions.
