Marine Ices

Went yesterday for lunch for the first time in 25 years (it is celebrating its 75th birthday year year). It is without doubt the besr family restaurant in London. Delicious, pasta, pizza, salads and grills. Superb, friendly service. Exceelent, well-priced wine list and the best ice cream in the world. There were even subtle, topical jokes on the specials board.

The food is excellent and the icecream to die for. It is always the first place our 10 and 5 year old ask to go for a meal out. Even after all these years they never get bored of it and neither do we so there must be something special about it.

Marine Ices? Mmmmm
I worked next door for a T/V Rental company and had my lunch in Marine Ices every day! When the T/V shop closed they bought the premises and expanded.
The lentil soup was out of this world and I "invented" Spaghetti Bolognese with a fried egg on top. It was on the menu as a "Gordini"!
Of course the Ice Cream (made behind the restaurant) is fantastic and I had a job to watch my weight.
Must go back again soon to relive the dining experience. The Mansi's who owned it were lovely people.

Simply fantastic! Don't come here if you expect a modern, trendy restaurant, it's simple, it's clean, and the food is simply amazing. Good Italian food (I'm italian myself), authentic recepies, and a very friendly atmosphere. The hihglight of my night was the ice cream, for years I had dreamed to eat proper Italian ice cream here in London, and believe me, my dream has come true. I strongly recommend trying Marine Ices out, if not for food, then just for the ice cream!

Very fresh Italian food, served in generous portions by waitresses who have the shortest skirts in London! A well chosen and not overly marked up wine list is much appreciated.Save some room for the ice-creams which are the best in London.Service can be uneven and there are usually quite a few children, but this is a family style place after all.

I love this place! The staff is so friendly, it's ok if you come in with pushchairs and tons of children, and the pizza is delicious. Highly recommended!

My Dad used to eat at Marine Ices when he was young, living in London. My parents used to take me when we visited London, they took my daughters too. I've brought my girls there and my granddaughter too - four generations hooked on the pizza, pasta and delicious ice-cream, what more can I say? Visiting again soon with my Partner and some friends.

This was our first visit in 30 years (no reflection on the restaurant, just our personal circumstances!). We were not disappointed. We loved the ice creams and will return for the pizza and pasta soon. Both looked and smelt delicious as they were being served to neighbouring tables. The service was quick, efficient and freindly. So kind and helpful were the staff they let us use their office phone when we discovered our car had been towed away! (be warned about about Sunday parking in Camden!)

I first visited here when i was a tot. I am now 45 & returned today with my father for a trip down memory lane. The food was fantastic as was the service, especially from the retaurant manager - but best of all is the ice cream. This was the first place that I had cassatta and today I revisited that heavenly experience. New on the menu is mandarin sorbet - superb. Thank-you all at Marine Ices.
