I can only assume that the positive feedback from colin, liz and jonathan are all the owners or are genuine but were extremely lucky on the day they went.

I often wondered when passing this restaurent why it's always empty. Well once bitten twice shy (no pun intended). I ventured in more out of curiousity than anything else and was completely ignored for 7 minutes! There were only 3 other tables occupied! so it's not like it was busy? Maybe this place is closing and the staff don't care? The food was so horrible that i asked for a doggy bag,and was rudely told NO.Went back to car and retrieved tesco bag and placed burger in bag. I'm not completely bonkers just wanted to show girlfriend the burger, had to see it to believe it. Wont be rushing back

If you'd like to be served by the gruffalo's sister then this is the place for you! The service is so bad and rude its worth visiting just to experience it.One family stood there waiting to be seated and gave up after being ignored for 5 minutes and walked away, can't say i blame them.I would love to meet the owner of this place and have a chat about this establishment. It's such a shame because the potential is there to be a wonderful diner but my god it is so bad it's amazing.

Maybe it's just me,but in my 46 years on this planet i think this is the worst service and attitude of service i've ever come across?! I can only assume that the good feedback was from the owners or people who were very lucky on that particular day.

This was my third visit, twice on my way back home to Uxbridge after work and tonight with the family. I have lol(decribing the service to mrs that she wanted to see for herself), and tonight didn't dissapoint. On a positive note the decor is slightly rundown and lacking atmosphere but worth a visit as it is a unique (well in London)American diner. The food as it happens wasn't too bad and not to bad value at £24.60 for family of three, not bad in London eh?If Fawlty towers was a diner then this is it.I prey if you go there you are served by the cuddly gothic waitress she is amazing! When you enter there's a sign saying please wait to be seated! Well with only four tables taken we still stood there politely (like only the brits do)! for 5 minutes before being asked you want a table. No i want to hang myself or milk a cow, what the hell do you think i wan't?

my wife and i visited this diner on saturday 10 oct. The look of the outside is fantastic but as we walked in it was dirty and some of the booth seats had rips in them.Service was quick and friendly.Food was disgusting a lot of money for what basically is smart price food, also NO refills. We have been all over the country looking and sampling food from american diners and this is by far the worst.

Not the world's most amazing food but a great experience and brilliant value for money. How can you complain?

This restaurant has the worst service I have EVER experienced. The food is of average quality - harldly worth the effort. We went for Sunday breakfast. The waitress abruptly told us there were no tables available for 15mins and disappeared (although there were two tables they could have put together). We sat on the bar stools where all the staff completely ignored us for 10mins. We asked one staff member if we could order at the bar and she just said NO and walked away.

It took the staff 25mins before they seated us. A further 20mins before they took our order even though they passed by our table at least 5 times. Two tables who came after us were served first. When we asked the waitress to at least take our order she rudely replied 'when I get a minute'.

The food arrived 40mins after we ordered. The pancakes are small, dry and hard. Although the menu says eggs cooked anyway you like the only two options are fried or scrambled. When we asked for egg whites the waitress actually said 'the chef will be mad at you'. The 'REAL good coffee' is really bad and bland. The eggs were runny and the hash browns are just fry ups you'd get in McDonalds.

I've eaten in America and this restaurant in no way resembles anything like the food, atmosphere or service you would get there. It's shameful and false to advertise they are anything remotely like an american diner.

Actually I have to agree with Jan Kazula (somebody who reviewed a couple of comments further down the page).

Why should I have to pay for food to get wasted and thrown away whilst half the world is going hungry? Frankly that's insulting not only to me (who was brought up not to waste what's put in front of them out of respect for those who haven't got any) but also to my wallet!

What gets up my nose is that the place won't serve childrens portions to anyone that looks over 12 years old. My ten-year old looks like he's thrteen - what have I got to do - come in with a Birth Certificate as proof?

Yes, I found a place not too far away that great food, nicely cooked, and would give a childrens portion to an adult if they asked for a small meal. I won't be coming to Starvin Marvins again either.

been plenty of times.decor great, fod good and menu what you would get from a diner.

lacks atmosphere that a real diner (which this is ) should have.

get the jukebox working and fill it with great tunes from the fifties the golden era of diners and the atmosphere would be a 10+.

by the way jan if your kids over 10 get her a proper meal and dont blame her appetite when it is more likely to be your wallet that is small.

On my visit, the food was great, with massive nicely-cooked burgers and loads of curly fries. It's not the healthiest food, but it's worth breaking the diet for. The service was really friendly. The novelty setting of a diner trailer imported all the way from the USA is loads of fun. My only regret was that I didn't have room for a milkshake.

For years I've been going there, and now, today, my daughter gets REFUSED a Kids meal because she's older than ten. Well, she chose it because she's only got a small appetite and didn't want a full adult meal. They refused to serve a childs portion, their staff and management were frankly insulting and consequentially we walked out - NEVER to go back. Their customer servce and attitude is appalling - I've voted with my feet and wallet - to Starvin Marvins shame and loss... The more folks that do that, then they will soon wake up and realise who pays their wages.
