Carluccio's (Kingston)

Sudden and detrimental change in management led to us walking out without finishing our meal for the first time. Dreadful slow service and then our main course went missing for half an hour only to appear at the manager's bidding within three minutes, twice cooked and inedible. Thank goodness Wagamama's service made up for it and our evening wasn't entirely ruined.

I love Carluccio's! Went there many times and was never disappointed. The food is delicious and simple, just as Italian food should be. Their summer pasta salad with green beans and mozzarella was so great I anted to bathe in it...not really, but you know what I mean. Their Penne alla Luganica, pasta with a slightly spicy Italian sausage and tomato sauce is to die for. Also, their mixed starter platters are absolutely fantastic and well worth the money (around a tenner, but great to share with one or two people).

It might not be the most extraordinary place to go, but is solid and good for sure.
