William Curley Dessert Bar

William Curley is a bijou patisserie and chocolatier tucked away in Mayfair's Shepherd Market. The 'dessert bar' is, realistically, just a few high seats looking over where the staff put together their creative confectionary.
At £12.50 each, dessert doesn't come cheap but does include a pre-dessert - in our case, this was thick mascarpone cream in a shot glass with a sharp fruit coulis. Not bad.
My chocolate tart was basically rich liquid dark chocolate in a pastry case, with white chocolate ice cream, fresh raspberries and a drizzle of raspberry sauce. The tart was good, if a little heavy for my taste, but the ice cream was sinfully smooth and delicious. My companion's trio of pannacotta was just ok.
I'd go back for the hot chocolate and the people watching, and I might have another dessert - if someone else was paying!
It's a great concept, but needs a little work.
