Azura Restaurant and Bar
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
As a local I often drink in the Azura Bar as it is one of the few places where the bar is open until 2pm. However this was not the case on Saturday 3 January. We arrived at the Azura bar after having a meal (not at the Restaurant in the hotel that is to be avoided at all costs - service food and value for money is all dire). We arrived to find reception empty and the bar closed. When a member of staff could be tracked down they informed us that we could only have any kind of service if we were resident of the hotel and that as they had cashed up that would only be limited to certain cheap wines & beer. After being advised this the staff once again disappeared.
Considering the current climate I don't imagine that hotel management would be happy to hear their staff turned away a party of eight hoping to celebrate a birthday (which at Azura prices probably would have been in excess of £400.00).
As this is the third occasion that we have been deeply disappointed by the service, food and staff at the Azura Bar & Restaurant at the Radisson Edwardian, our group of friends are no longer going to bother with this establishment and I would recommend that if you want a nice evening that you think twice before considering this venue.
This Hotel may purport to be four star and is aiming for five star status - but it is sadly lacking in the service ethic required for a three star Hotel. Definitely one to be avoided.

Living locally and having spent many a pleasant evening having cocktails at the bar of the Edwardian Raddison Hotel, we decided to try their resturant , 'Azura'.
We arrived around 8.30pm on Saturday night and told our waitress we would have a drink at the bar and would it be ok to dine at 9pm. 'No problem' we were told. We then went to be seated at 9pm only to be told that the resturant was now closed due to the late arrival of a party of 14. These were the only people in the restaurant!.
The manager intervened, asked for our patience, for us to have another drink and peruse the menu at the bar where he would take our order and then seat us 'when he could'. He also advised us that to cater for our party of 4 plus the other table of 14 a la carte was extremely difficult!
40 minutes later 4 starters arrived, my diver caught scallops and my partners breast of wood pidgeon were sent back as they were stone cold.
At gone 11pm our mains (minus the side orders) arrived. My 'lemon sole' with potted shrimps was almost unrecognisable and completely inedible and was so burnt and dry that I could have snapped it in two.
My companion's venison looked as if it had been cooked for about 2 hours (which could explain the long wait!), We complained again and asked for the bill only to find we had been charged £60 for a £28 bottle of Chablis and also for my burnt lemon sole which had been returned untouched. It was then that our 3 side orders, one of which was incorrect arrived!
We retrieved our own coats as no one seemed at all bothered by this time and returned home very disapointed not to mention very hungry.
Needless to say will not be returning or recomending!!
