Possibly the best fish restaurant in London! The food was exquisite - excellent balance between freshly cooked fish and sauce, generous portions. Staff were friendly but non-intrusive, service was most efficient. Atmosphere was good -lots of other diners clearly enjoying their visit-

I recommend it ! We will certainly be returning.

This restaurant has the most wonderful fish dishes and incredibly friendly staff. Always helpful they allow you time to settle in and peruse the menu but will go through it all in detail if asked and with great knowledge.

They are also more than happy to adapt their dishes to suit your needs - something to be treasured!

The atmosphere is slow and calm but in the middle of a bustling part of town, I see that as amazing! Its not a place to rush its defintely a place to savour and the food deserves nothing less

Many thanks for many enjoyable evenings

I have eaten there twice and the food is excellent. The service, however, is appalling - whilst I appreciate that the food is freshly cooked, the waiters should explain that to their patrons when they finally approach the table.

It took ages for anyone to greet us, bring us menus, take a drink order - if this was done immediately people arrived, the wait for food would be reduced as the kitchen would have the order a lot quicker!

However, the atmosphere was friendly. I would like to go more often as the food is great BUT!!

Fantastic, brilliant, super.. Infact I'm already feeling hungry writing this review! This place had the lot;

Atmosphere.. Very Quiet music... Peaceful yet friendly background

Food . Delicious. absolutely world class. You can taste the effort in the food.

The food was sensational, every time the waiter walked past , I was getting hungrier and hungrier.. All those dishes and variations.. Sublime.

The wine was the best ever 'sweet' sparking wine I have had in my life.. And best of all...

The customer service was 11 / 10.

I highly recommend this place, it is to date, the best place I have ever eaten at. Top Marks!

Hi, whilst travelling last Thursday through London my friend and I stopped off for lunch at this charming and well presented restaurant. We were welcomed by the owner who was very friendly and extremely accommodating. We ordered the fish soup which we both agreed was fantastic (the best fish soup we had tasted outside of France!). We then shared some starters which were equally amazing. My friend had been taken to this restaurant before hence recommending it to me but I will definitely be going back and hopefully in the not too distant future.

The owner even took the trouble to draw us a map as we wanted to go up to a place near Colchester. He was great!!!

We've been going to Chez Liline for the best part of 25 years, having been introduced originally by a friend from Mauritius. We had our wedding lunch there as well as various other celebrations. Sadly, Liline herself is no longer with us but her sons carry on the family tradition and the food is as good as ever. Well worth a trip if you're in north London - unless, that is, you don't eat fish!

I had a lovely meal at Chez Liline last night. The food was absolutely delicious and at £20 for 3 courses, very reasonable. I had a starter of scallops and shared my partner's Mauritian prawn curry starter which had the most wonderful flavour. The main course of sea bream was perfectly cooked and delicious. It's not the most sylish restaurant inside but with food like this, we didn't care! I'll definitely be recommending it to others and planning a return visit.

A small long established Mauritian fish and seafood restaurant in Stroud Green. Well worth travelling to. Even on a relatively quiet night mid-week, everything was extremely fresh and impeccably cooked. Excellent value (lobster at half the central London price), attentive service, decor quite plain but still feels cozy. And the wine list is good too! Aready planning a return visit.

I'd wanted to try this restaurant for some time as I work in the area. After my visit last night I will not be returning. I went with a friend and on entering we were left standing like lemons near the door while the 5 staff at the bar, in turn, looked at us and looked away. We seated ourselves only for the waiter to come along and advise us to move.

I don't even want to waste my time further describing the food. The starters of mussels and squid were tasty but the portions were tiny and vastly overpriced. The mains were dire - again ridiculously priced for what they were, a tiny portion of monkfish fried til overcooked and an unpalatable texture, the peppercorn sauce tasted of salt, salt and more salt. YUK. My friend's whole (but small) fish was similarly incinerated, the crispy carcass hidden beneath a mountain of undercooked onions. Oh and the wine - you guessed it - overpriced for the plonk it was. £60 down the drain.
