Brookmans

We went to Brookmans on a Sunday lunch and enjoyed some traditional lamb roast. It is a nice venue, sort of New York style within a beautiful Georgian building. Standard of food was not bad but I am unsure whether it is worth value for money to go for a full price evening meal if you compare it with a venue in London or even some places in nearby St Albans. We may give it a try nevertheless.
Atmosphere on a Sunday was mixed. If you do not enjoy children, you mat stay away until the evening.

Superb refurnished venue - you could be fooled into thinking you were in a plush london restuarant instead of a nice village in Herts. It is right opposite Brookmans Park Stataion so although I live here my friends travel up by train so they can enjoy a drink. The staff make you very welcome, food is excellent with a good choice, the menu is always changing. I have eaten here several times and the quality and service is superb with a great wine list. Prices are a bit on the high side for Herts but well worth it , £80 for two with wine, although I have eaten there for less than £50 without wine. Worth booking on Fri and Sat as they get very busy the restuarant is closed on Mondays.
I often eat in London and this ranks as consistantly good in all aspects of food and service, highly recommended
