My boyfriend took me to Gaucho's for our anniversary, the service was excellent, we were first seated in the bar area, our drinks were brought over to our table, snacks were also offered, we then took the lift up to the restaurant area, the decor was very modern with Cow effect fabric on the chairs and walls, our waiter was very informative, bringing over the cuts of steak explaining how it was cooked and also recommending a very good class of red wine, the food was cooked perfectly, Gaucho's is highly recommended and I look forward to going back again.

This was my second time visiting a Gauchos. The first was a few years ago, and I came away with the impression that it was a bit overpriced, if a fairly nice experience.
After last night, I am never setting foot in a Gauchos again.
I didn't feel like having a full steak, so I ordered the burger. For £16 I got a burger so small it felt like I was back in school again. That they don't even give you one side with it is just another slap in the face.
I wasn't planning on a dessert, but I decided to have one just to fill me up. That was a mistake - the chocolate tart was tiny, and had no hint of the coffee it supposedly contained. To top it all, my espresso was burnt.
The total bill for four was £184. Shocking.
My advice - find a halfway decent steak house and save yourself the money. I've had bigger burgers of equal quality and with more food on the plate for half the price.

Went to the Tower Bridge gaucho last night, the second time I had been to a Gauchos. Must say now the novelty of the interior has worn off and by itself the food is not that impressive. The menu prices have been cranked up to eye watering proportions.. £2.50 for a miniature tub of bearnaise sauce, £5 for a side of spinach or small dish of chips, £6.50 for the cheapest glass of red which looked like a small glass. Steaks are good but expect to pay in the region of £20 and if you get the pork chops the majority of it will be fat. All in all I won't be visiting this restaurant again in a hurry. It is far too overpriced and in these times of belt tightening eventually it will be full of loud mouthed bankers splashing their cash.

I was very diappointed with the experience at Gaucho last night. The restaurant was over crowded due to the tables being far too close together, Rather than creating a buzz this just resulted in the feeling of being in a fast food restuarant.
Portions were small and side dishes and salads uninsipiring. My shrimp salad contained 5 small shrimps (I counted them) and I asked for more. The wine glasses had dried water marks on them which showed up in the candle light. Overall the quality of the experience did not match up to the cost of the menu.
On the postive side, the staff were friendly although service was initially slow and the wine list was comprehensive especially the Malbecs. The complimentary bread basket was delicious. However, I don't think I will go back.

went here early this year. Like the interior and food as well...But seeing the bad reviews, I guess there must be something I missed from this place.

gaucho's continues to go down hill
good points - very good choice of wines and a friendly sommelier
bad points - food lacking taste, size of side portions, cost of side portions, cost of sauces, size of tables
overall qaucho has gone beocme a large mass market brand .. kind of reminds me of a posh Aberdeen steak house these days

As with the other Gaucho's I've tried food is good but not great......
The steaks are large and tasty and well cooked but when you're paying anywhere from £20 to £39 they should be. By the time you've added sauce and sides you can be talking £40+ for a main course. For that it should be top end cuisine and this is not.
I went recently with my wife and another couple. We bypassed starters and went for 4 mains, with side dishes of spinach, chips etc (which we had to send back as they were lukewarm). No desserts or coffees. OK the girls shared a bottle of champagne which was £60, but I had a couple of bottled beers, as did the other bloke and a bottle of water and the total bill was £280, so plus service was £155 a couple.

I was told about this place by a freind, he said that it would be a great place to take my new gal on a first date. We were both very impressed on arrival, we found the venue easilly in the O2 and found the venue's reception to be very freindly and helpfull, after giving them the details requested we then went up in a lift and were met by another person who knew us by our first names - a little touch that was not lost on us.
The actual restaurant eating area was a little disapointing to me, I did not like the cow hide design - i thought it to be a bit gaudy and tacky. It did not seem to work in tandem with the rest of the restaurant which was anything but. My partner for the night did not agree with this view and she actually liked it.
The waiters were helpfull and freindly - they showed us selections of steaks and the steaks were gorgous. There was unfortuantly not a lot with them though and the appetiser and desert came in tiny portions.
We were one of only two couples in there so it did seem very sparse but there was a nice musical background to make things more interesting.
The price was very high but all in all we both enjoyed our experience there but I do doubt that I will go there again, not because I did not like it but because im sure that there are many better places that I have yet to go to. In the O2 alone.
