The atmosphere? Great. The decor? See atmosphere. The food? Hmmm... I couldn't be bothered to eat most of my Tagine Medea as the blandness did not justify the energy spent chewing. It was no more than chicken peices covered in musheroom soup. If it was anynmore than that, I'll take everyone who reads this for a meal there. My dessert didn't arrive for over an hour, so on asking the whereabouts they bought a selection for the table to enjoy... great, but I ordered my own, where everyone else had the starter. Best not argue that, I was pleased somethnig edible had arrived.
Great fun, but not for the food!

I was quite surprised by some of the other reviews because myself and my friends really liked this place!
It has a very nice atmosphere and decor with cosy seating and low tables, and the rose water to wash our hands in was definitely a very nice touch.
We ate here on the Times 2 courses for £10 deal and the menu gave us a small but good selection of Moroccan dishes, which all went down well (including the vegetarian options). I particularly recommend the curried vegetables and dessert pastries!
We came here in a small group for my birthday meal and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The belly dancer was very friendly and dragged some of us up to dance, quite embarassing but after all the drinks it was a good laugh!
The cocktails here were very good, although personally I did not like either the white or rose wine (although my friends happily drank it!).
Service was quite slow as the restaurant was busy, but our waitress was very friendly (even giving me a free birthday drink) and it meant we didn't have to rush our meals and had more time to enjoy the venue.
We also tried the sheesha, which was only £10 so good value for money, with peach tobacco.
The background music was just right, and all in all we had a very good time.
The only downside is the unisex toilet which needs improving, but other than that this place comes highly recommended.
I would definitely come here again!

I went to Medea twice and we all had very mixed feeling about the place. It is extremely smoky, there is no "non smoking" zone, so if you are asmatic or have heart condition, don't go there. We were placed in a freezing cold area, which really spoilt our evening. The food is only OK and is definitely overpriced.
I shall return, sorry!

This place is pretty much chaos - a lot of fun if you're in a big group (bellydancing, relaxed atmosphere, up-for-it staff), but not for intimate dining. The food is so-so: my chicken and honey main course was delicious, but my starter - a so-called ocean platter - was like school food. The service was, to say the least, erratic - friendly, but all over the place and very very slow. Sitting on little pouffes etc is also not my idea of a great time - really uncomfortable. Basically, if you're in a group of ten or more and you want to go somewhere where you can have a laugh and spend maybe four hours over a fairly boozy and fun meal, this is a good spot, but it's neither a culinary hotspot nor an ideal destination for people with long legs or high blood pressure!
