Brasserie Gerard (St John's Wood)

I came here last night, although the table service was good and the staff were really friendly, unfortunately the food was terrible. We ordered the 18oz chateaubriand, but were really disappointed when it arrived. It did not look 18oz at all, in fact it did not look enough to feed two people and I could have eaten it myself. A few really thin pathetic looking pieces of steak, we asked for rare but it was really overdone, was not even very pink, maybe due to the fact that the pieces were so thin. Thank god we had the special offer of 50% off main courses otherwise I would not have been happy paying £40 for that! It was not filling at all. We then ordered the chocolate fondant, which was also a disappointment as this was also overcooked and was solid the whole way through. Maybe the other dishes are better, but i'm not going to bother trying this restaurant again.
