We popped in for an evening steak and were left disappointed. Both steaks were overcooked. Waitress forgot pepper sauce, advised not to worry i'd leave it. Was then asked if wanted ketchup...agreed...never arrived! Poor quality bread too. Overly expensive for what is a Berni Inn with french decor. My advice would be to spend your money elsewhere as other great places on the High Street.

I hadn't eaten here for a number of years after some negative experiences when first moving to the area but decided to give it another shot at the weekend.
Unfortunately nothing has changed expect perhaps for the worse!
While the staff were all pleasant & efficient, as a dining experience there's no way to describe the food other than truly awful.
In summary - eat here only if you like your food, flavourless, overcooked, non fresh, frozen, processed, deep-fried, microwaved and/or not as described on the menu, all put together but a kitchen with no apparent skill, interest or knowledge of what the authentic French dishes they are attempting taste or look like.

I've been a few times to Brasserie Gerard in Teddington now. The Demi Poulet was excellent and the Calamari was excellent. The staff were friendly and I thought that the prices were pretty reasonable. The waitresses were different each time and all very nice and accomodating. The only downfall was the poached egg with spinach had too much sauce on it - the poached egg was done to perfection as was the spinach but a little less sauce next time would be a good idea. That's just constructive criticism. We all loved our deserts and my boyfriend adores the burger they did there as well. The tart Tatin was phenomenal. Really delicious. I could have had seconds but I was very full from every thing else. In fact I think I'll order that next time. I'm already starting to plan what to have the next time I go. That's the sign of a good restaurant :)
We've been there when it's been busy and when it's quiet. We thought service was good either way.

I wont be going back to Brasserie Gerrard in Teddington again. The food is ok, although not all of it freshly made. I had a nice lamb dish for my main, but the service really ruined the experience. They were very slow, despite a half empty restaurant. Two orders were incorrect, food was cold and they made us feel unwelcome for politely and quietly asking for our incorrect orders to be replaced. What a disappointment.
