I must be in a parallel universe, the African Kitchen Gallery I visited was a disappointment. Our host was very informative and helpful but the food, apart from the starters was a big let down.
The African Kitchen Gallery should be renamed the African Microwave Gallery, as all our food was reheated in microwaves, this is not good.
I found out from our waiter that the owners are facing possible closure due to the dastardly Camden Council refusing to allow the owners use the property as a bonafide restaurant, with a proper kitchen, where real African food can be cooked.
The owners need to inform people of their situation before they book a table,I would gladly go back if and when they resolve their present woes with the evil Camden Council, there cannot be a African Kitchen Gallery without a REAL KITCHEN.
To end on a positive note, the Fresh Mango Juice was, very FRESH and the Masks on display provide an interesting backdrop.

Not many veggie options but the plantains, jollof rice, beans and sauces worked very well. My first taste of Nigerian food - and very impressive it was. Service is slow but the food is fresh - no microwaved short-cuts here. THe fish was praised by everyone. If you like spicy food and are bored of the usual tex-mex or are looking for something different, give Angies a try. Surprisingly we were the only table on a Saturday night, so I can't big up the amtospehre but the food was very good, the staff friendly, the cook came along for feedback and we had a good night. Hardcore Nigerian guiness added a good touch.

Very authentic Nigerian cusine. Not very quick service but then this isnt a fast food restaurant. The meals were freshly made and my tastebuds did cartwheels over the suya and jollof rice, team that up with plantains and I was in heaven. The pepper stew is also excellent! Even if you are unfamiliar with Nigerian food it would be difficult to find something you dont like. We went on a week day for lunch so atmosphere seemed a bit lacking. We plan, however to come back with our African friends to make a party of it!
