What a disappointment. Id been looking forward to coming here for years and my experience on saturday was utterly gutting! to start - for all the pretention and overstaffing of the reception area, when it actually came to the restaurant the service was dire - no one quite knew what table to show us to and in the end we were 'pointed', we sat for 10 minutes without even being given a menu whilst the front of house staff strolled past – we had to wave one down (after the first ignored us). Service was slow and uncaring - a different waiter every time - certainly there is a reason they don't publish their prices freely (£5 for a bowl of plain rice???!!) - portions small and - having footed a £90 + bill for a meager 2 courses and a house bottle of wine, my partner left hungry. Would certainly not return here – such a pretentious front for a restaurant with terrible service and average, overpriced food. If you are reading this please don't do as we did - consider my advice and save your money :)

The doorman looked us up and down and grunted as if he was reluctant to allow us in, (very well dressed as we were) The meeter and greeter simply pointed in the general direction of the bar as if she had a million better things to be getting on with. The bar staff were snobby from the start which wasn't all that welcoming but the cocktails they served were excellent. When we were seated we were confused to be sat right next to another couple even though there was plenty more seating available with no diners quite so close together.
The service was a little casual in vocab and demeanour but the food was excellent. I went with the spicy prawns and my partner the lamb cutlets, both are recommended. When transferring from the dining area to the bar to wash down our meal we were loudly chased down by the waiter as if we were about to run off and instructed to pay up right away? Not good.
As with other reviews this place is very over priced. It's an ok place that thinks it is far far better than it actually is. We spend over £150 and regretted it.

Ate here a few nights ago with my wife and her friend from Mexico who was excited to try good Indian food in London. What a whopping disappointment. We ordered a vegetable biryani that at 15 quid we expected to be superb, it was completely ordinary and seriously over priced. The lamb curry was good, but again, extremely over priced for such a basic dish. Overall, not particularly special Indian food at ridiculous prices.

Should have read these reviews before going to the Mint Leaf and there's good reason why on their website their menus have no pricing. Seriously overpriced for what was served - £18 for a bowl of lamb bhuna. The food was okay - certainly a touch above your regular local but not in a way that would justify the price. First and definitely my last time even if someone pays as there are far better Indian places at a fraction of the cost

the most awfull restaurant I have ever been to my recommendations dont get fooled by the decor its dark and dingy.
At least when you go to McDs you know what you are getting this place is one to avoid big time we went last night so the rage is pretty fresh its July 2010 .
We had a party of 7. my daughter 11 years old ordered an apple juice she got a vodka based cocktail after we had chased her order for at least half an hour. took another 15mins for her apple juice to arrive.
We ordered two of the same dishes one chicken dish arrived we chased another half an hour before it finally showed up by that time we had nearly finished. I even asked the waiter if I should draw pretty pictures for him so he could get the order right. He even took away the credit card without asking if he could in these days of fraud.
ordered a bottle of water took ages and we ended up drinking it on the way out.
Now thats the service here comes the food review. The chicken dishes were ultra bland great if you arent allowed to eat anything fresh or flavoursome had to peel fat off and dry as if they had been cooked a year before.
The lamb dish was at best bland at worst the worst thing I have ever eaten. Chewy and fat festooned. The naan bread was dry and burnt . The chicken rice dish was awful dry and bland .
the kids made the mistake of asking for puddings dry sodden chocolate tart and gulab jammun covered in has been creme brulee.
On complaining we got an apology thats it so as I said to them wait till you read the reviews .
awful service was followed by ultra bland food not fit for human consumption and for a £214 bill super market pre cook pack food has better texture and flavours so save the money stay at home. We all felt a total waste of an evening
I read reviews where the food is meant to be great obviously written by people not used to eating Indian food
