Ate here a few nights ago with my wife and her friend from Mexico who was excited to try good Indian food in London. What a whopping disappointment. We ordered a vegetable biryani that at 15 quid we expected to be superb, it was completely ordinary and seriously over priced. The lamb curry was good, but again, extremely over priced for such a basic dish. Overall, not particularly special Indian food at ridiculous prices.

Should have read these reviews before going to the Mint Leaf and there's good reason why on their website their menus have no pricing. Seriously overpriced for what was served - £18 for a bowl of lamb bhuna. The food was okay - certainly a touch above your regular local but not in a way that would justify the price. First and definitely my last time even if someone pays as there are far better Indian places at a fraction of the cost

the most awfull restaurant I have ever been to my recommendations dont get fooled by the decor its dark and dingy.
At least when you go to McDs you know what you are getting this place is one to avoid big time we went last night so the rage is pretty fresh its July 2010 .
We had a party of 7. my daughter 11 years old ordered an apple juice she got a vodka based cocktail after we had chased her order for at least half an hour. took another 15mins for her apple juice to arrive.
We ordered two of the same dishes one chicken dish arrived we chased another half an hour before it finally showed up by that time we had nearly finished. I even asked the waiter if I should draw pretty pictures for him so he could get the order right. He even took away the credit card without asking if he could in these days of fraud.
ordered a bottle of water took ages and we ended up drinking it on the way out.
Now thats the service here comes the food review. The chicken dishes were ultra bland great if you arent allowed to eat anything fresh or flavoursome had to peel fat off and dry as if they had been cooked a year before.
The lamb dish was at best bland at worst the worst thing I have ever eaten. Chewy and fat festooned. The naan bread was dry and burnt . The chicken rice dish was awful dry and bland .
the kids made the mistake of asking for puddings dry sodden chocolate tart and gulab jammun covered in has been creme brulee.
On complaining we got an apology thats it so as I said to them wait till you read the reviews .
awful service was followed by ultra bland food not fit for human consumption and for a £214 bill super market pre cook pack food has better texture and flavours so save the money stay at home. We all felt a total waste of an evening
I read reviews where the food is meant to be great obviously written by people not used to eating Indian food

Went to this restaurant for a friends bday and I was totally disappointed.
This restaurant had been recommended to me in the past but I hadn't been so when a friend suggested it for a birthday I was really excited and looking forward to going.
When I arrived the receptionist was really polite and friendly but after that it was downhill from there.
I'm not sure what the hype is about with this restaurant because the food was cold, the dish that I had lacked flavour and the meat in the dish was really poor quality and was oily. I've had better chicken in Nando's for a fraction of the price and my local indian restaurant is fare more superior than this.
I was disappointed with the food but the service was even more abmissal. Our waitress was rude, miserable and we were constantly having to go and look for her and chase things up. The drinks were expensive, came out warm and we waited 25 minutes before they finally got the first drinks to us. It wasn't that busy that they were rushed of their feet that there was an excuse for it. The waitress never smiled once and was unfriendly and unapproachable. Guite frankly I've fet more welcome and had better service in McDonalds.
For a restaurant of this calibre I expected more and I don't mind paying for this if its good. They also add a 12.5% service charge to your bill and again I have no problem with paying it and I expect to pay it if the service is good but to have extremely bad service and then have it added to your bill is a bit of an insult.
The only positives that I can say is that the receptionist was friendly, there was a waiter that showed me where the toilets were that was very polite and although a bit cold was brought out quite promptly.
It's a shame that something that I was looking forward to turned out so badly.
My bill was expensie and it was a total waste of money.

My husband and I came here for my birthday and I had great expectations of it. However, was disappointed. The food was average, tired looking salad leaves, cold starter and warm drinks, we felt rushed by the dining staff, although it wasn't busy, she seemed in a hurry for us to vacate our table.
We spent in excess of £200.00, a waste of money.

Great food but slow service, truly awful staff and overly intrusive music . We were very disappointed by the whole experience and in no way would go back again.

Thoroughly disappointed with my recent trip to this restaurant as a birthday treat for a friend. We were mistakenly given the reduced options menu not realising that there was a fuller menu with more choice. it wasn't until after we had ordered and seen others being given larger meus that we realised our waitresses mistake. When it came to obtaining the bill she gave it to us then took it back and said oh no this is wrong you had the smaller menu by mistake but as you hadnt booked the special offer you will not get the 50% off. I thought this was very mean as it was clearly her mistake and then she tried to argue that there wasn't more choice on the larger menu???
Will definitely not be returning here again!

Loved the food here. It's a world away from a mere 'curry'. I went with a friend and the two of us shared three large size "starters" and one "main" although ignore those labels because we asked for them to all come together and they were all the same size. The two I liked best were the soft shell crab, in a lovely light crispy batter, and the black tiger prawns which were huge and juicy and full of flavour. The quails and baby lamb shank were also excellent, although the lamb wasn't quite as meltingly tender as I had expected. We also had on the side a portion of black lentils (slow cooked with butter and tomato with cream - very rich), a peshwari naan and their "baked" rice. The baked rice was described on the menu as being baked with cream and saffron, but could have done with being creamier and more aromatic to live up to its billing. The bill for two came to almost £80 - including service and two bottles of water but no alcohol - so it's not by any means cheap, but I used my Taste London card which gave me 50% off the food and it came to about £45 which felt like great value for such high quality food. Service was discreet and efficient. Atmosphere is buzzing (there's a bar along one end but behind a see through screen) and there was a mix of couples, friends and a few people in suits. Probably better to go with friends than on a date.

We ate here last night for the first time.
The restaurant is dark and intimate. Lovely long bar serving great cocktails.
Our waiters were attentive and friendly. We probably over ordered as we were starving. I had the tandori paneer, which was delicious. My husband had the Chicken Chettinad. Side dishes we ordered new potatoes with garlic and cumin - lovely. Yellow lentils, spinach and cumin - wonderful. Okra crisp fried - gorgeous and the speciality breads - all fabulous.
The food was delicious. We loved the whole ambience of the restaurant.

It seems everyone here is a vampire. It is incredibly dark! The food, however, is great. The decor is also fantastic. Try it once, best Indian food I have had in a long time, and I am INDIAN!!!!
