the best tapas i know, i live in hampstead but still travel over even for a glass of sherry and jamon. the staff are always good fun. a place that serves serious food and 80 bin spanish wine list yet does not take itself seriously, how refreshing!!

The best tapas I know of in the area, but the portions are small and somewhat over-priced - eg four pounds twenty-five for a good but tiny slice of tortilla.

This place is always dead, and there is a reason why. Although Camden is not a hotbed of fine dining, it doesnt abide by restaurants being ridiculously bad.
Little atmosphere, bad food, overpriced.
Sure, think about it, but I recommend that you walk up, look in the window, see what kind of rubbish other people are eating, then go somewhere else.

i can see why the chap who did not like it was anon, as i can only sumise was a disgruntled employee, we find the place fantastic quiet but of really good quality and original not the usual rehash micro tapas. also mentioned in the evening standard restaurant awards. will be back

i ate at Bodega de Tapas in Camden last night, i normally eat at Jamon Jamon which is good, or at least i thought so until my meal at Bodega de Tapas.
WOW! this is not typical tapas but modern interpretations you would find in madrid or barcelona. everything we ate was stunning and different to the usual tapas offerings.
we had a couple of mojitos on arrival which were great, then we tried at least 6 wines between us as the whole wine list over 80 spanish wines are available by the glass.
i have even booked to have my birthday here next month.
check it out it hasn't been here long so for the moment you can probably get a table.

Ate at Bod (Bodega de Tapas) last night, and was not impressed at all. The calamari, a dish so standard that it should be done right, was soggy to the point of the batter sort of falling off the squid. Chorizo was a let down with 2 small skewered sausages with bits of pepper between them. It was prepared neither here nor there, warmed through a bit, but no fat had been rendered leaving it greasy and heavy. The pork belly claimed to have been cooked for 24 hours, but didnt taste it. I don't even want to talk about the sardines. Jamon was fine, but all they really had to do was slice it and lay it on a plate.
The one decent dish was the goats cheese on toast with honey, but the combination, while good, can be had in so many other places. Dishes as expected were small, but it was quite disappointing to end up with a 60 odd pound bill and still be that hungry afterwards.
The place was nearly empty on a Wednesday night at 8:30. Service was decently efficient and friendly. I know its supposed to make for an authentic experience for the staff to be Spanish speaking, but really, they should know enough english to be able to answer questions about how the dishes are prepared. All in all there are better options, and I wont be back.
