Yes the staff were polite and our first impressions were good but things changed when the food came. It was not bad but not good, the portions were small, the sheftalia overcooked and our complaints not taken seriously even when we asked to speak to the owner. It may be OK for the upper street locals but the Cypriots I was with were not impressed, thankfully ma-in-law was not with us or she would have sorted the kitchen out and got us banned from upper street in the process. Also it was not cheap, we spent more than most of the meals we have in upper street and left still feeling hungry. Whats more sadly the Cypriot hospitality was sadly lacking. We will not return.

My mother, my girlfriend and I went for dinner last night (15 October) and had an excellent night. The surroundings were pleasant, the food was great and the service was outstanding.

We enjoyed a great night for a reasonable price and the menu had lots of variety, so Im sure there would be something on the menu for even the fussiest palate.

I would recommend this Greek restaurant.

Polite staff and good ingredients, which can be rare on Upper Street on a Saturday night.

The menu could be a lot more descriptive though - some dishes are very bald in description ("grilled sea bass" or "meatballs") which makes it difficult to imagine what they're like and what seasoning or sauces they come in. Some of the dishes use the greek name without any english translation ("kleftico plus pots," for example) which puts people off perfectly good dishes if only they were described.

The cos lettuce and onion salad plonked next to good, strong mains such as the sea bass, makes the dish appear cheaper - more seasoning, spices, better presentation - and Pomegranate will get lots of repeat visits.
