We went to Exotica on a Saturday lunchtime. The food and service were really good. The restaurant was empty apart from us and we were told they mainly serve business workers in the week. The restaurant has no kerb appeal and if we hadn't booked we would have walked staight past. The surroundings are definitely not exotic but quite basic with high tables and 4 stools fixed to the floor. The food was delicious and excellent value. The Thai chicken and Morrocan lamb tagine were particularly tasty. The service was friendly and efficient. Try it.

Don't let the 8s and 9s decieve you. Not a great place if you're going with a lot of friends- Chances are you won't be able to sit together or even if you somehow manage to squeeze in you still won't be able to talk properly. Moreover, retro bar stools isn't really my idea of comfortable seating.

Food isn't brilliant either! The servings are small and the 'fusion' aspect in retrospect resembles a politician's manifesto- high on promise, low on delivery! Not much to choose from especially for vegetarians and they have a fixed number of dishes. So the guy at the end of the table may well be told that they've run out of the only thing that sounded good on that tiny menu.

Perhaps not a bad place for small groups. The music is nice and if case when everyone can sit together Exotika might actually turn out to be fun.

Verdict: Not recommended for groups of more than 6.

Impressed with my visit to Exotica last night - it's a fairly small place but the menu is certainly varied. I had some delicious Lentil Soup to start and then the Roasted Vegetables with Couscous and Halloumi - again, really tasty, and I believe fairly healthy too! It's pleasing to see a good range of options for vegetarians.

The service is very good - friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend Exotica - though, I expect booking in advance is a good idea if you are visiting on a Friday or Saturday.
