Brian Turner Mayfair
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
We came here as a party of four, on the 3 courses for £28.50. The service was impeccable. It was quite quiet when we went (8pm on a saturday night) but the furnishings were neutral and inoffensive. The toptable set menu was limited to 3 choices per course which i felt was plenty. Started with a great (and very rich) fois gras, then had the roasted gilt head sea bream, which was outstanding. We were all too full for dessert, and so we were charged the two course meal for £24.50 instead. It came to £50 a head for the meal, a bottle of wine and a champagne cocktail each. It was also nice that Brian Turner came out to say hello to everyone.
I'd definitely recommend it.

We had a great lunch at Brian Turner Mayfair. Compliments to the chief, as the meal was thoroughly scrumptious. Also, they have a good wine list. The ambience was very relaxed, and the staff were charming & attentive, but unobtrusive. I would not hesitate to go back

My sister and I dined here on Saturday evening to celebrate my birthday. How thoroughly disappointing our experience was. Firstly the wine waiter was extremely pretenious and rude, not only could he not be bothered to walk round to our table instead he prefered to slump over the glass partition to see if we required the wine list, stating 'no thank you' as we are teatotal, he stomped round to our table snatched the glasses of our table and stormed of. The food was average my starter of prawns and crab consisted of 3 prawns and a spoonful of crab meat and as for 'Brian Tuners Fat Chips' £3.25 for 9 chips hardly good value
Our overrall statement for this restaurant was big plates, small food, big bill!!!!!!!

Utterly disappointing. Scallop started in a very uninteresting leek sauce, as main course a vegetable pie served with a creamy orange-coloured sauce (sauces tasted pretty blend), hardly an inspired menu... It explains the empty tables on a Saturday night.

My husband and I had the pleasure of going to eat in this restaurent last week.
It was lunchtime and it was not busy though regular diners were there we were made to feel very welcome. The food was fabulous,we chose from the a la carte menu though there was a very good choice on the set menu.
The staff were attentive though discreet. Wine was a little expensive but considering where we were eating i think quite acceptible.
We have most certainly decided to go back when this can be arranged

Having read many excellent reviews for this restaurant we were a little disappointed. Maybe our expectations were too high. The service was fine, ambience was OK if somewhat quiet early Saturday evening, apart that is a loud drunken party who arrived soon after us! Brian arrived and was accosted by the party, before moving swiftly on to the kitchen! We were also rather concerned to see a baby chair being prepared, although baby and family didn't appear while we were there. Not something one would appreciate at an expensive evening meal! My wife's menu contained the special set menu which is excellent value. Unfortunately, after about 10 min this was taken from us because it had been placed there "in error". So we went a la carte. I had prawn starter and monkfish which was fine. Hoewever my wife's duck was extremely tough and the sauce highly spiced. Not a pleasant combination. We finished with the famous? chocolate pudding with jaffa cake ice cream. We had to ask why the jaffa cake name, because there was no discernable orange flavour - just a few chocolate chips. Finally there was no cream for the coffee and no petit four to finish. The cost was £126 for two of us so not cheap.

After finding out that my fiance had booked a weekend to London on the same weekend as we had already booked tickets to the Good Food Show in Birmingham left me slightly unhappy. However, to make up for it he booked us a table at Brian Turner's restaurant on Saturday night. Well, what can I say. The food, ambience, staff were all excellent. Although there was an extremely reasonable set menu, we decided to go a la carte. For starter my partner had the biggest yorkshire pudding i've ever seen with chicken livers that melted in your mouth. I opted for a qual, venison and Foi gras pie which was blissful. For main I had venison and the other half had steak - both cooked to perfection. I wanted a side order of veg, but having told the waitress we wanted dessert, she thought we would be too full with veg as well, which I thought was nice because most places i've eaten tend to make you have the veg which invarioubly ends up uneaten. To finish, we opted for the cheeseboard which again was lovely and had a wide variety of cheeses that you don't usually see. All in all, a fantastic meal. My only diappointment is that i didn't see Brian Turner - I guess he was probably at the Good Food Show ;0(

My boyfriend and i had diner there last Saturday. The food was fabulous, great quality and a wonderful presentation in the plate. Great taste with everything needed but nothing too much, just the prefect cuisine. The service was very nice, present but not too much, just what you expect in a such famous restaurant.
The appetizer was a pork rillette with spice jelly, and the combination of the two was fabulous.
We choose in the "a la carte" menu, not having the special 3 courses. I had the foie-gras to begin, and the mixture of the smooth and the crunchy brioche bread was fabulous. My boyfriend has the rare beef sirloin, with herbs and red peppers. Wonderful taste.
Then I had as a main course the veal with wild mushrooms and green asparagus. It was perfectly cooked, and very tasty. He had the slow cooked pork, with the "homemade BBQ" sauce. We order the Turner's vegetables also, which was a very good choice, baby green peppers with tomatoes and herbs. We chose a red wine from bourgone vallee, and it was a perfect match for both of us.
The most beautiful moment of the evening, I was proposed just before the dessert, a fresh raspberry "clafoutis" with raspberry ice-cream. Gorgeous, dessert and the ring I get. I said YES and the restaurant manager gave us 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate.
What a wonderful night, and an unforgettable souvenir in this restaurant.
I would recommend this address to anyone who wants to have a great time with a great diner, in a very nice place.

We were given this special experience by our children for my husbands 60th birthday celebrations, after a flight on the London Eye we made our way to Mayfair to find the hotel. We chose the special £26.50 menu for three courses with bubbly included and we started our meal with a delectably smooth pate served with warm brioche, followed by sea bass fillet and complimenting side vegetables cooked to perfection, then finally the Chocolate experience to end our wonderful meal. The waiters for very attentive and friendly and we were very lucky to meet Brian Turner.Much recommended and pleasant surroundings.Smart dress was asked for therefore a little disappointed to see casual tee shirts in some areas of the restaurant.

It is an extremely rare occurrence for me to enjoy a meal so much that I make the effort to write a long review for it but, in this case, I’ll make an exception to the rule.
I booked a table for dinner with my Dad at Brian Turner's restaurant yesterday evening. We only made our decision in the afternoon but managed to book a table using the London-eating offer.
On arrival, we had a quick pre-dinner drink in the bar and then went into the restaurant for our meal. I have to admit that I’m sometimes a bit nervous about special offers in such lovely restaurants, because I have been to places in the past where the special offer menu isn’t very appealing and you end up being treated like a second class citizen. This was definitely not the case here. We both agreed that everything on the menu looked delicious, and having a choice of three items per course, we didn’t feel restricted in the slightest.
After we’d ordered (and between being offered an on-going selection of bread and our free glass of champagne arriving) we were each given a ‘Chef’s surprise’ which was a single meatball on a bed of couscous with a sweet chilli jam. It was a nice touch and a great start to the meal.
We both ordered a liver pate as our starter which was absolutely delicious and for the main course I had the duck and my Dad had the fish option (bream I think…!). All of the food was fantastically presented and tasted out of this world.
Having initially thought that we weren’t going to have dessert, we were both too tempted by the soft centred chocolate pudding (served with Jaffa Cake Ice Cream!!!). Needless to say, it lived up to expectations, delightfully presented and tasted delicious.
In addition to the great food, lovely surroundings and fantastic value, we were both particularly impressed with our waiter for the evening who was extremely attentive without being over-bearing. For a three course meal, with pre-dinner drinks, a glass of champagne each, sparkling water and coffee, the bill came to just under £78. For the quality of food and such an enjoyable evening, I thought it was great value and I would highly recommend trying it out.
