Telegraph

Zoe Williams - 5/10

Monday, June 07, 2010 - My companion started with the crayfish cocktail, and said kindly, 'It's a little bit cold.' Well, yes, that was the start of the problem. Add 'It didn't taste of anything' and you have a dish that might as well have been prawns, or indeed ocean sticks...I had the asparagus panna cotta with asparagus tips and a crispy-bacon dressing, mainly because it sounded so strange. It worked beautifully. I think I actually prefer asparagus in set-mousse form than as the vegetable itself. It was a stylish and tasty notion, though not one that would make you leap from your seat and halloo the chef.

TimeOut

Guy Dimond - 3/6

Thursday, October 16, 2008 - The Royal Institution has been championing science for more than two hundred years…The building's new £12 million refurb is as aesthetically discordant as a physics teacher's tie collection. Bright lighting, blood red chandeliers and plate glass walls clash with walls lined with bound copies of old science journals; a dark carpet in the dining room swallows light like a black hole. The café serves the usual pre-fab snacks and drinks...The dining room was a quiet as an anechoic chamber on our evening visit, with only one other table occupied.

I have just had lunch with a friend at the Time & Space and I was delighted with the restaurant. It is just wonderful to be able to have a conversation with my luncheon companion without the usual bellowing which dominates restaurants today. No music PEACE.

I agree with the last review the decor and ambience is delightful, service was professional but light and the food was better than most London museum restaurants.

Although quiet, I was very pleased with the atmosphere and service in the Time and Space restaurant. We had a drink at the bar first and the bartender was very friendly and able to make us the cocktails we wanted even though they weren't on the list. When we went to the restaurant there were a couple of other tables and the service was attentive but not too fussy. I had a the sea bass and my boyfriend had a perfectly cooked (according to him) rib eye steak and we were both very happy with our food. I would definately go back again.

I took 2 clients for lunch and was throughly delighted with the decor and ambience, modern in a traditional setting, just right !

Admittedly not very busy but service was good and light on touch and friendly. Food itself was again good ( not outstanding but ) and thought fair value for a Mayfair restaurant.

Would definitely be returning

Got taken here by a client and it was much better than expected. The room is sort of formal but trying to be trendy, but it's new so looks nice enough.

Couldn't understand why it was so quiet because the food is actually very good. Slow cooked lamb with minted mash was great and the monkfish opposite seemed to go down a treat. Didn't pay but prices didn't look unreasonable.

Would definitely go back and can recommend for business dinners or quiet dates.

Dos Hermanos

Monday, September 15, 2008 - Step forward Time and Space Restaurant whose launch at the newly refurbed Royal Institution was, I suspect, not completely unconnected to the aforementioned collider going online. Unfortunately instead of applying their collective, massive intellect to getting someone decent in to do the food, say a Paul Merrony of Giaconda fame, they’ve outsourced - I know, you’re shuddering already - the operation to Digby Trout who are owned by Elior, a sort of French equivalent of Searcy’s.
