Amazing. Fantastic value for money with great food, excellent service and enough seating to cope with their many customers!

I have been twice now. Great food, a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and snappy service. Would recommend to any one wanting to try more authentic Thai food in London.

I've been popping into Suchards on and off for a number of years. I cann't recall a time when it wasn't busy. This in itself suggests it can'tbe be that bad. As suggested in previous reviews its not for a romantic night out, but if you are after good food at a sensable price then give it a try, if you can get a seat...

My friend and I visited this establishment last night. We ordered their Phad Thai and a Red Curry with steamed rice. No sooner had the waitress taken our order than the food was delivered to our table (less than 2 minutes). Upon tasting both dishes, we realised the food was not hot, nor was it even warm, it was barely above room temperature. We attempted to get the attention of the waitress and several other members of staff, who seemed more concerned about stopping trick or treaters from entering the restaurant, than attending to us. When they finally came over, several minutes later, they refused to accept our complaint. They said the food had been sitting there for a while, to which we responded we had been trying to get their attention for some time and had not eaten any, other than 1 bite to discover it had not been cooked to an appropriate temperature. We asked for fresh dishes to be provided but they refused.

Upon standing up to leave, without haven eaten, the waitress said in a raised voice, "stop complaining our food is hot". Not wanting to cause more of a scene, we left, but needless to say we will never go there again.

I was appalled with the customer service, not to mention the dangers of serving cold re-heated food.

I was shocked to see the negative experiences of Suchards. I've been going for almost a decade and I love it in there, albeit I have the green curry more often than not. I would say its the best Thai experience i've had outside of Thailand and my BF and many friends agree. OK its not romantic and the tables are close together but the food is always fresh, quick and tasty.

If anyone were thinking of going to Thai Square across the river at Monument as an alternative I would stay away. I reluctantly went there six months ago and ordered scallop, prawn and asparagus for £11.50. One scallop chopped into four, two prawns chopped into four and they even sliced the asparagus lengthwise into three to make it look more. When I challenged the Manager she said "maybe the chef couldn't fit it on the plate"! Not only was the food bad value for money, she was testing my intelligence (must post this rant on under their restaurant).

Suchard's is great - but as someone else said, beware of the jungle curry!

We bought a bottle of thai wine that tasted like detergent. They refused to take it back.

Apart from that, mediocre food, tables way too close together. One to avoid.

Last weekend, my partner and I decided to have Thai food. The nearest restaurant to where we live is Suchard. We walked past it so many times... but had never dined there. So, we thought we'd give it a try. For starters, we ordered a bowl of chicken tom-yum soup and a bowl of coconut prawn soup. OMG... both were very salty. Then, the main courses arrived. Again, they're very salty too. This is so ironic as the signage outside the restaurant read: fresh, healthy food. I think the chef needs to taste the food before sending it out to the diners, and to go easy on the salt. We had Thai food many times before (at Busaba Eathai, Blue Elephant, Thai Square and Thai Pot) and I can easily say that Suchard served the worst food! Having said that, Suchard is by far the cheapest. I guess, you get what you pay for. Will we dine again at Suchard? Will we recommend this restaurant to friends and family? The answer to both these questions is 'NO'.

This is the best Thai cafe around. The food is fabulous - authentic, freshly prepared and delivered with speed. It's excellent value for money and the staff are very sweet.

I'd thoroughly recommend it.

All I would say is... beware of the jungle curry.... ;-)

Good: Very nice Thai place to eat whether a quick lunch at work or an evening meal before theatre or as a meal in itself. Service is very quick (could be confused for rude but I see it as very efficient!) and the food comes quickly. If you want, you could enter, order, eat, pay and leave all within 35 minutes if you needed to. Staff are friendly enough.

Bad: The toilets stink of toilet cakes and the downstairs part of the restaurant (as a result) can be quite smelly if it's less than half full.

Overall: Food is very tasty and very cheap (average spend £25??? What are you ordering, two meals per person?) - worth a visit if you're in the area and need a quick place to eat.

Went here yesterday evening at 7:00pm with a friend. We shared the vegetable spring roll starter (£4.50) there were 6 of them. I had the singapore chow mein and my friend had a prawn dish from the specials (£9.50) which came with boiled rice. The portions were just about right. My singapore chow mein was fine. I liked the addition of the cauliflower and broccolli and the vegetables were fresh. There were 2 prawns and some reasonable bits of chicken for £7:50. My only problem with it was that it was a little too sweet and not spicy enough for me but that is a matter of taste. My friend enjoyed her prawns. The vegetable spring rolls were nothing special but not bad. I would say that it was not really a completely thai place as the menu comprises Chinese as well as Malaysian dishes.

I ordered a tap water and my friend had a lemonade (£1.50) and no fuss over not drinking alcohol was made. The service was attentive but we were not rushed to leave and I had to order the bill. The service was not included. My friend mentioned that the toilet was average.

To summarise a good value for money place to have a quick bite to eat to catch up with an old friend.
