By mistake I walk into this place Saturday on bank holiday weekend. We had a friendly and smiley waiter, but the food was literally horrible. Sorry to say it, but it is just true. Everything we had a frozen taste and chewy texture.

I was grabbed by the 'eat as much as you like offer' Tapas for a £10 (they offer it on Sunday and Monday). I could not believe my eyes - at this special offer. You choose 4 or 5 tapas dishes from the menu e.g. meatballs, mushroom, calamar, potata brava, deep fried fish, tortilla, paella etc...

When we got the food it looked outstanding and presented in authentic spanish clay dishes. Our table was full of tapas plates. At £10 per person, it was good value for money, but I must admit the paella rice was a little 'hard' and 'dry'. I was looking forward to the patata brava but they were 'average'. I did order a salad, but the avacado was brown. The calamar was perfect (and not chewy as in some resturants) and the deep fried fish was amazing. I have been to La Tasca before and the Covent Garden branch 6-7 years ago and I seem to recall the food being better at that branch.

The restaurant had many authentic looking features and even though we went on a cold winters day with coats and gloves, we felt transported to Spain.

Be warned, they did take their sweet time bring the food to the table. It certainly is a good place to take a big group, especially, if you have a few greedy people!

It is certainly a good place, so sit, chit chat and relax... Also, our waitress was lovely and had a nice smile!

I would certainly return to La Tasca.....
