Had my 30th Birthday here... it was great!

The food was large in portions, and sure tasted better than any mexican restaurant ive eaten at in London. seasoning was good, but not overdone - while the dips are all freshly made by the owners- you cant beat fresh guacamole dips trust me :)

The reason we chose this place was because of the food and especially the bar. this place as an immense bar from one side to the other of the restaurant. This meant we ate while Shakira sang a song or two for us, and then came to the bar where we started on the tequilas and fancy cocktails - not forgetting the Sambrero shows :)) excellent fun! Music varied at this point from Elvis Crespo Merengue to a bit of Ricky, and some pop.

This place got it right! the begining of the night up to around 11 is nice enough for tasty dining - then the place livens up enough to keep you happy till around 1am!

I hear from friends (who visit regualrly) its good on the weekdays too as they have ladies night, and more intimate dinners rather than the loud music.

definately recommend Tu Chicas! Well done Chico :))

Typical Tex-Mex, with a pathetic messy bar. Xmas menu was ideal in terms of options and layout, but the food was hit or miss. OK sizzling dishes but salads wern't close to touchable. Facilities could do with a spruce up. Did not hear any seasonal music. Overpriced in my opinion. This is SW19, and there are finer places to visit.

Although Tu Chica's calls itself a Mexican restaurant, and while some dishes on the menu do indeed reflect this, it is a rather confused mixture of nationalities- seen in the decor and the ambience created. There is a very definite South African flavour and while I am not averse to this, it does send off confusing signals if you are looking for a more authentic Mexican experience. Jamie Cullam background music create's a great intimate ambience but certainly doesn't do anything to add a touch of authenticity. The meal was very average and we did find it over priced at £25 per head , for 2 starters, 4 main meals, 2 beers and a bottle of house sparkling.

Brilliant restaurant! The service is excellent and the food exquisite. Everything I have eaten at Tu Chicas is great. Original and innovative cocktail menu. And very affordable. I will go back many more times and recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This has been one of our best restaurants so far. If you are looking for great service, good food and a perfect atmosphere, as well as excellent value for money, then this is the place to try. We have had many parties and dinners there and have always had a wonderful time.

Thank you and keep up the excellent service.

Best wishes,

Andy

My friend and I made the mistake of going to Tu Chicas for a quiet mid-week meal. The food was okay. A bit tasteless and heavy. The service was lovely and friendly and the waitress helpful (and endearingly apologetic when she dropped my fajitas all over the floor!). However, I think this place is more about going for a party and having lots of cocktails so that the food fades into the background and becomes just something to soak up the tequila. Its certainly not the place to go when you want to focus on good food.

On the plus side, the food is filling and there are a few excellent dishes I've tried - BBQ chicken nachos are particularly worthy of note as are the fajitas. The staff are friendly and the same guys seem to have been here for year.

The decor though is less appealing and like the friendly staff, never seems to change. Ugly patterned carpets, plastic table cloths and the most unbelievable semi-erotic artwork imaginable! Unfortunately it kinda takes the edge off an otherwise good place.
