I booked this restaurant purely due to the good reviews here + 50% off food, but I must say it was a bit disappointing experience. First of all, I booked for 3 people but we were given a table for two. Never mind, they quickly changed our table for 3 and most important thing was for the food not the table. I asked one of the waiter if they serve carpaccio however he did not know what carpaccio was?? Although he insisted that he was an Italian, I still doubt.....hence the 2nd disappointments was made. As we have not seen each other for a while we needed to proper catch up, however, the music was too loud!!. It was supposed to be a Jazz night but the music and songs were more like a wedding reception..and so loud we had to shout each other. Further more we had to remind them for the drinks we ordered half an hour ago and my friend's side salad never arrived...finally when the bill came we were charged full price not 50% off food we booked for.. sorry da Scalzo we were sober enough to notice it.

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm in no way associated or affiliated with this restaurant at all.

Secondly, my first impression (before entering) was that as this restaurant is almost right across Victoria Coach station, this would probably a "easy come - easy go - don't care" attitude. It couldn't be further from the truth.

The staff are super friendly, attentive and aware without being intrusive. Some of them however aren't English (and are Italian) so they may have a puzzled look while you're talking to them. That said, nothing was misunderstood. Just don't take a strange look as negative (they may just be busy deciphering your odd accent!).

Food is delicious and amazing value for money with the 50% discount (we each had a pasta dish and it was definitely freshly cooked).

My friend & I each had a carafe of wine (one white, one red) and whilst we're both fussy wine drinkers, our chosen wines were undeniably delicious.

If there's a negative to be given, it's the music. Andrea Bochelli played through the entire meal (2 hours) - a few notches too loud. I did ask them to turn it down a bit which they did. I think they have live music on Friday evenings/

Again, delicious food and a selection of super friendly staff. Will most definitely return!

I've eaten twice here and was impressed by the decor, food, value for money and really friendly staff. It is my favourite place to eat in the area now.
